Recommended Posts

cause I'm panicking!!! Ok I'm on mushies day 11-30 last night was day 12 and I had some refried Beans with cheese, I added Water to the beans tomake them a little more moist...ok ouch I hurt! Not bad but there's one part on my tummy that was hard to sleep on last night and is sore to the touch...should I call the doc now? Or see how I feel a little later on... Does anyone know what a slip feels like?

Thanks!!!

Perhaps it was just a gas buildup from eating Beans and cheese. When I have something that would normally cause me to be gassy, even in small amounts, it makes me hurt pretty good.

I guess that is another reason why they want us to add foods slowly, not just so they won't get stuck, but to see what you can tolerate with your band. Some people develop food intolerances where there was no problem before.

I am not certain what it feels like to have a slipped band, but it is very uncomfortable to eat something my new stomach can't tolerate. I don't get the feeling that something is stuck and it doesn't hurt, just doesn't feel right either. To me, in the pre-band days, it is like trying to drink a soda too fast and you get that instant bloat feeling in your breast bone area and upper stomach. That is the best way I can explain it or like you have eaten way too much, even though you know you haven't. This may be or may not be what you are experiencing, but if you are worried, check with your physician.

Best wishes,

Stephanie

I haven't had a slip, but from what I understand, if your band has slipped you usually can't get down any food or even liquids. It sounds like you are just still having pain from healing. As always, any concerns-call your surgeon or bariatric support center. Good luck!

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I am 4 weeks post op and have just this week tranisioned from soft food to regular food depending and I can most tell that my stomach is still a little bit soar and not used to having regular food... We have to keep that in mind... we have been on liquids, for some of us up to 4 weeks... we need to reconditon our new tummys... I think that could be why you had a little soarness... just my guess but if you are that concerend I would call you doc... BUT to answer your other question, I would LOVE TO HEAR from somebody that actually had their band slip... CAN ANYBODY LET US KNOW????

my vote is the gas from the Beans in your tummy. Also cheese was my problem out of the gate. Its hard to digest if you have to much. I still have pain on the side of my stomach. I think it is where the port is. I also can't lay comfortably on my stomach yet.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
