3rd time was the charm

Recommended Posts

I was one of those people who had two fills and could still eat an entire chicken. Last Friday I went for yet another fill and now understand what restriction is. I pb whenever I eat chicken. I am full on 1/2 an english muffin with Protein on it. I am now eating like a normal person. of course, it has been 5 days and I haven't lost any weight but that is OK. I think you have to be really forthcoming with your doctor. I really complained about the lack of restriction and they put in 2 more cc's. Stick with it and continue to go for fills.

OK you have convinced me to call and make an appt for my dr to do another fill. I had surgery in may and have been bout standstill weightwise for a month or more, had one fill early July and they said return in 3 mos or sooner if no weight loss. I also have felt that except for reminding me at times I may have eaten too quickly or not chewed the food thoroughly.. the lap band has not made any measurable difference in my appetite or Portion Control. I felt guilty that i cant seem to make it happen on my own!!

so hopefully another fill or 2 will do what I need it to.

good luck to you!!

Chris

Ok can anyone let me know what to do? I am so depressed!I had surgury on May 9th this year and did well before surgury and right after. It was less painful than I thought and I lost 30 lbs.I had my 1st fill in June 1 1/2 cc.I was starting to feel hungry ,and thought this would help.I had absolutely no restriction and tho I drink plenty feel hungry! Now I went to dr for a fill in July and he said he would try to put in another 1 1/2 cc.When he injected port he could only get .2 cc in ,omg thats nothing. He said there must be an air pocket or bubble? anyone here of this and how does air get in and does it come out.He didn't schedule me for another whole month because he says I still lost 7 more lbs.My appetite is just as before presurgury liquid diet.I'm fighting it but feel depressed and feel:confused_smile::biggrin: that I will lose the battle. The reason I has lapband surgury was so I would have a tool to help me control my eating. Please help me!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
