Thank you so much for all the advice and support. I really appreciate it soo much. I have been learning more and more each day and its great. Monday I began eating healthier lots of fruit and vegs, staying away from bread and all the little junk foods. I want to be a step ahead when I get my surgery. I found a Dr that my primary physition reccomended and his name is Dr. Valin. he is in New haven and I am going to talk to him on Monday afternoon. I cant wait to start my new life, i need a change... for me! Well Happy New Year to everyone!

If anyone has any advice for my first consultation please let me know. Thanks

Jenna

Thats great!! My energy just finally took a turn for the better. I started doing the strip tease workout and it WORKS!!! I am hurtin but feeling great about it!! I also am psyched to get my new bike outside. I am going to start running as well. My goal is to be able to do the Tunnel To Towers Run in Sept. It's a 5K. Gotta have goals!!!

Renee sounds like an awesome run!!! I going to start to run on February 1st . I'll be honest I haven't tried since i lost my current weight the last time my butt Jiggled so bad it was embarrasing. So I set a goal for running .. I love the treadmill not a big fan of the eliptical trainer I can do 45 min on treadmill easy at 3.5 MPH so I figure to run I'll have to get up to at least 5.0 MPH !! How long have you been running?

Had a good time at the meeting on Wednesday night at Yale. It was a small group 3 post-op and one pre. It was nice to chat and put a face with people from the board. We should try and have a get together on the weekend or something like that and is not as formal. Any suggestions?

I havent started yet, but my husband runs so he is going to help out. I have the Couch to 5K saved, just waiting on the right time to start. My butt's a jiggla too!! The run isnt until September, so I have time. Even if I run some and walk some, finishing it will be enough for me  That is awesome about the treadmill for you! Elliptical is HARD lol, I can do like 15-20 min before i feel like I might die LOL

Congratulations Sil!!!

Don't you love Dr. Roberts? He did my surgery and he is awesome. I also had an easy procedure and was up and about in no time. I am hoping to go to the support group meeting next month. Maybe I'll see you there!!

Enjoy the ride!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
