Anything you can't eat before first fill? (After you return to full foods)

Did just having the band (no fills) prevent you from eating anything?

    • No problems! - I could eat everything I ate before I got banded.
    • Just Needed to Chew - I could eat everything I ate before the band if I chewed it well.
    • A Few Problems - I could eat almost everything I ate before the band, a few foods couldn't get down.
    • Dramatic Change - Just having the band changed what I could and could not eat dramatically.

So, all the paperwork I have to sign mentions the fact that there is the possibility that, after surgery, there may be foods that I could never tolerate again.

I've read different stories on here about people feeling absolutely no restriction without a fill and being able to eat anything, and others who never need any fills because they already feel restricted.

For those of you who have been there, how much did just getting the band without any fills change what you could and couldn't eat?

Thanks!!!

I was banded 5/23. After the required liquids and mushes I noticed I could be satisfied with alot less. I can still eat anything. I have to listen and feel my body to remember not to overstuff. My doctors office says 1/2 cup Protein and 1/2 vegies per meal. I have a hard time with this. They are more about volume than ounces. My mind says that can't be enough. So I do struggle with this. Since my first fill 4.6 in 10 band I feel the restriction faster, I really try and watch small tiny bites. Although my weight has slowed down.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
