2nd fill misery, will it get better?

Recommended Posts

I had my 2nd fill yesterday. He filled me as I drank and gauged how much to add as I drank. It was so weird, and I had a hard time gauging how it was going down. I went to the waiting room to finish my bottle of Water and started sliming immediately, and then had to go to the bathroom to spit up the water. I couldn't even swallow my spit, so I went back in and he took out .2 of my 1cc fill. It felt so much better, and i was able to burp down some more water. Later in the day it was hard for me to drink water. I was told to drink warm liquids. I didnt' have anything yesterday, and today I tried some Starbucks, which usually opens me up completely. I don't know how much I've kept down, I keep spitting up water and coffee. My question is..........will it calm down? Are things just irritated because of the fill and unfill? I'm supposed to drink warm liquids for 48 hrs, but the coffee is making me semi slim and water makes me feel like a golf ball is stuck. Should I call and schedule and unfill or........should I wait it out and see if it gets better. Right now im miserable and wanting FOOODDDD! Please advise me! Will this get better? or not? I'm afraid I'll get dehydrated or something.

Sounds like you need a unfill. There should be very minimal discomfort from the band if any. If your not getting Water down than you need some saline taken out of your band because you will definately get dehydrated.

Good Luck

You could just be irritated but I am concerned that drinking Water is making you have the golf ball feeling. It sounds tight to me.

Why don't you just schedule something as a precaution . . . and if it improves greatly before your appointment you can cancel it.

I agree with the other responders. I had a fill on 6/28 then left for a weeklong vacation. Everyday the band got tighter and tighter. It did not loosen. The golf ball feeling, the pressure on my throat (I felt like I was being strangled) all got progressively worse. As soon as I returned home, I had a small amount unfilled and immdeiately everything improved, including the strangling feeling. I did get dehydrated. My urine, on the day I arrived home, was dark brown. That made me decide immediately that I could not wait it out. Now everything is back to normal, and I am enjoying my band again with just enough control to keep me on the losing path. Good luck.

Just wanted to give you all an update. I had the weekend from hell. I couldn't get any Water down on Sunday. It was hard for me to walk up the stairs. Today I called in sick to work and had to have my mom drive me to the doctor's office. He took out .02 CC and I feel like a NEW WOMAN. I drank an entire bottle of water and then had some reduced fat cream of chicken Soup diluted with skim milk. It was the best soup I've ever had. Let me tell you, don't struggle with being "too tight". Go get unfilled as soon as possible. I had lost 7lbs from Friday afternoon to Monday afternoon from not eating or drinking. It was pure torture. I feel sooooo much better with something in my tummy! I'd rather be fat forever than have another weekend like this past one. :cursing:

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
