First Fill.....eeezzzy peeezzzy!

Recommended Posts

After much dread, I had my first fill today and it was nothing....simple...painless...

For some reason I built this up in my head as something to dread. 20 yrs ago I had an amnio from heck. After many attempted tries, my ob/gyn could not get the needle through the placenta. She had to reschedule me for another day to again attempt it. It was not a pleasant experience therefore I didn't reschedule. I would not have aborted my child anyway so saw no sense in trying again...I digress...

Sooo, when my doc was preparing the needle, I didn't look at it. He wiped me with some alchohol and said 'quick pinch" and stuck the needle in. I thought he was numbing me. NOT! He was filling me. It took all of 20 seconds and voila' it was done. What a waste of energy worrying about nothing. I'm on full liquids the rest of the day. Ahh, what a relief!

Well, I finally got my first fill yesterday. Last minute dash to Zhills from Tampa because Dr. Krish had an emergency in the afternoon. It was sure a strange feeling when he put the saline in the band - felt like my stomach was doing a backflip! When I sat up and drank the Water it got stuck immediately. Boy did that hurt. After a bit we settled on 3cc's. The whole procedure was essentially pain free - love that freezing cold numbing spray. It was such a strange sound when he was trying to hit the right spot on the port. That was pretty freaky - the human body wasn't supposed to make noises like that!

I thought that after the band, stomach B would shut-up and leave me alone, but it's making so much noise! I am so darn hungry right now - so I'll go drink some broth or eat some Jello. I feel like the band is wide open right this minute, but I'm sure after the broth I'll feel more full.

Have a happy 4th everybody! Hugs to all!

Barbara

OK...I thought I maybe my band wasn't tight enough. I got my first fill yesterday and my Dr. told me that the band would feel tighter today, but I am starving!!! I have had tea and coffee today (that's it), but I have a bad headache and feel like my blood sugar is low. Ughhh. Thanks for the reminder about the Jello...I think I will go have some right now =). So I guess this is how we are supposed to feel until we eat some mushies tomorrow.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
