I totally messed up my liquid diet...

Recommended Posts

Hey Yall,

I had my surgery on he first. So far only a few bumps. I got a hematoma on my port incision but only had to go on antibiotics. It looks much better. I really didnt have a very hard time at all. So far I have lost only 17.5 lbs with the pre op diet and all the liquids since. It hasnt been that bad. I havent exercised yet. No energy. I go back to the doctor next Thursday and will start soft diet after that. I do not regret having this surgery at all.

Congratulations!!

Don't worry about losing weight at this point. These eating stages are for just healing. Until you get your first fill, you may not even lose weight, and in fact, may gain a little. Don't worry about it though. It's all normal.

Be sure to check with your surgeon about the timeline for starting exercise. Some say 6 weeks so be sure to check at Thursday's appointment.

Take care and best wishes!!

Thank you for the the encouragement. I really appreciate it. I know things will be a little slow. I am still thankfull to God for this blessing.

Hi Lady in Red, I must say I never had to have a pre-op diet and got to enjoy my "last supper" which was a quesidilla, it was awesome! The night before that I had a mouth watering steak. My operation went without a hitch. I just couldn't eat or drink anything after 10pm that night. I am in a support group with lots of other members who went to the same clinic and it was exactly the same for them. I wouldn't worry about it. Two weeks of liquid diet befroe hand is a little extreme I think but hey what ever works for your doc!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
