I was banded on 6/4 and have a sore "knot" under the large incision. I am thinking that it may be where there are internal stitches. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?:)

i have the same thing. I think it's because that incision is larger than the others so it's taking longer to heal...plus that's where the port is. i was banded 5/23.

What she said...they put the port there and sew the port to your stomach muscles. That area will hurt the most and for the longest. Mine is still a little sore sometimes but mostly good to go.

OH YEAH. It about killed me the first week or so. Now it ONCE in a while feels like a stitch in my side like one gets when they run. It's mild though- just more of an annoyance than anything else. (I was banded a month ago.)

I was banded Friday 13th and have that same spot. It doesn't hurt unless I sit up or lie down, and it only hurts badly for about 5 seconds. When it hurts I start singing "Happy Band day to you" and by the time I get to the end of the song the pain is gone! Or maybe my horrible singing drove it away?:biggrin2:

JRT - I was banded on Friday the 13th also! YAY us.

They put my port and incision in the center lower part of my abdomen and I'm not sure why. But yes, that's where I'm feeling any pain when I do feel it.

I love the singing "Happy Birthday" to your soon-to-be-born "band baby". I'm hoping to have about a 100-lb band baby in the next 18 months.

:)

I was banded on Friday the 13th as well. I havent had hardly any pain. I just feel like my muscles have been stretched. How soon can you sleep in a bed, because the recliner is getting to be a pain.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
