And I feel great! My stomach is still obviously sore, but the rest of me is doing just fine. I still have a bit of residual shoulder pain, but that is dissipating the more I move around. I am even braving a cup of coffee, I am not expecting to finish the whole thing, I just want to shake this caffeine headache I have had since Tuesday. I have been drinking my Soups, and Water. Broths are still hit and miss with me, I just can’t stomach it. WAY to salty for me, makes me feel sick to my new and improved stomach. And that is even the “salt free” variety. I still kind of belch a bit, but I was told that is to be expected the first few days.

I braved driving my kids to school today, I just needed to get out and do stuff. I am going nuts in the house puttering around. It is just up the road so I knew I would be ok, and I was too. It felt good to get out and do something even if it was just sitting there. I am still peeling off the glue from all the leads they had attached to me. I just can’t wait until I can hop in the shower again, damn I can’t wait.

Well that is about it, two days out while no marathons are in my future I have been downgraded to punched in the gut instead of stabbed in the gut ROFL.

hey pix, I had my surgery on Wednesday and am feeling better as the days go. Are you drinking Soup? My list of foods says fluids but doesn't list Soup or Jello. Just Water, gatoraide, Protein, coffee, and tea. I can start mushies on sunday so that's good.

I have a question, does your stomach look swollen still? Right below the chest my stomach looks swollen, it could be the gas, or the pouch so I'm not worries.

It's just good to hear from others

Hey guys!

I am two days out and feeling pretty good too- MUCH better than I thought I would.

My stomach is still a bit swollen and I do have some gas pain- but I just keep walking around and it is getting better.

you know when I came out of surgery I regretted my decision a little. I guess because of the pain (I've never had surgery before) but as the days go by it gets better and better.

My only wish is that I could sleep on my bed

With a pillow I was back on my stomach THAT NIGHT .. I was sooo happy. Granted it was with the help of some Oxycodone that I was able to sleep on my belly, tonight is just gonna be some liquid tylonal so hopefully it will do the same and let me sleep on my belly.

I was banded on Tuesday, still have shortness of breath, anyone else have trouble taking a deep breath? and yes I am still pretty swollen too. The gas pains are getting less each day too. Soups seem to help me.

I was banded on May 5th and everyday I feel better and better, except for the fact that I'm exhausted. I just feel so wiped out, with a bit of shortness of breath. I have had very little gas pains and I can sleep very well. I am eating blended Soups, Protein Drinks, Jello and yogurt. I can eat these just fine but I can't eat much at one time. I had requested one week off from work but honestly I don't know that I will have the energy to go back on Monday. Does anyone else feel "wiped out"?

I was banded 4-29-08 and doing great! No pain meds since I left the hospital. A little gas pain, but nothing to bad. My belly is still a bit swollen, but I htink it takes a little time for all the gas to get out.

It is tough just puttering around the house. I do not blame you for getting out and about for a bit.

My doctor just gave me the go for soft foods. :biggrin2:

Good luck to all of you! I think we made the right decision.

i feel tired too but that's because of not having enough food in my body. I've just been drinking Water and gatoraide for the past 3 days. I have Protein shakes but I cannot sip them to save my life. I start mushies tomorrow but in all honesty I'm sure I could eat them today.

I have a question though, does anyone put ice on your stomach? During post op the nurse put some on my stomach and i started doing it when I got home. Should I keep it up?

Thanks

Hi,

I was banded three days ago. I'm still very queasy. I'm able to keep down Water and crystal light but the Protein drinks are making me extremely ill and I am giving them up for now. I have also gained 10 lbs since the morning of my surgery. Very depressing. Hope your recovery continues well. I was allowed to shower two days after surgery. good luck

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
