November Nymphs Summer Kick-Off Weight Loss Challenge

Recommended Posts

I thought having the next challenge go to the first day of summer, June 21st, would be motivating. That's almost 7 weeks. Then for the summer we could have a "summer meltdown" challenge if everyone agrees. I'll kick it off!

Good luck everyone!!

Looks like 10lbs is the consensus with the exception of our TxArcher who wants to get into the 200's. You go dude! We are with you.

Yep! I don't just want to graze in to the 2's... I want to take a sledge hammer and absolutely smash that 299 mark and NEVER see it again! I figured the 280's would place me well into the 2's.

Stay the course Nymphs! Weather it is 2 or 20 pounds, it is still important to our bodies to just get rid of it!

I think I could finally join a challenge again. I really need something to motivate me back into losing weight again. I've been complacent too long. And when I'm in police academy, at least I won't be able to dwell on food all day long. And I'll be running most days, and strength training for at least 2. So I'm gonna go wild and say 14... 2 lbs per week. Yikes. LOL

Hey...just realized...that'll put me into "normal" for my weight. Man, that would so totally rock. It would be the first time in 10 years that I have been "normal" for summer. I look forward to wearing shorts all the time! HAHAHA

Good luck to everyone.

I will be able to keep focused for the June date. My daughter is in Afghanistan and she will be coming home for a Visit on June 7 -- she was home for my surgery Nov 27 and she hasn't seen me since I have lost 89 pounds!!!

I was with my sister last night and we were talking to someone who's BIL was banded a couple of months before me. He has lost 92 lbs. When I told her I had lost 31 lbs my sister piped up with "but you've been at that weight too long". Well no more excuses, this is it, I'm ready to meet this challenge!

Well my average lately has been five pounds a month, but what the heck, I'm shooting for ten. I always get optomistic after a fill! Last fill was Monday after returing from vacation ( where I gained, a LOT). I must have been too tight becasue I had a lot of pain since the fill and just today went back and had .2cc's taken out. I had .6cc's put in. Had absolutely no appetite for those two days, had to force myself just to drink Water or a shake, so those vacation pounds just dropped off in two days! So I'm right back where I started and hopefully this fill will help. I was able to eat way more on vacation than I ever thought possible.

Just starting to try soft foods, don't want to overdo it since I figure things need to calm down after being tight and the last thing I want to do is slime and PB since that will only aggravate things more.

I will be delirious if I can lose the ten in seven weeks!

Go Nymphs!

I'm right there with you Wendy! Can't wait to see the scale back in Onederland. I'm determined to get there by summer. If the scale doesn't move in a couple of weeks, I'm going to get another fill to get me there.

Cindy I didn't realize that you and I were the same weight!!! LOL You know this will be the first time in a VERY long time that I was under 200. How tall are you??? I'm 5'7". I don't have any real goal set. I just want to be out of the OBESE catagory.

Wendy, I'm only 5'2". I look very short and round right now even though I took off 43 lbs. I wish I had your height! I've only been over 200 for the last 3 years. Still can't get used to what I see in the mirror. I'm almost desperate to get back into the 100's just to feel a bit more like my old self. My goal is 130 which is totally attainable. That was my weight just 10 years ago. I started steadily gaining weight after a hysterectomy 8 years ago. Then a car accident in '03 spead it up. Got hit hard from behind by an elderly lady who now has dementia and doesn't remember the accident. I had 2 discs repaired in my neck last May and haven't excercised since the accident. Also lost my parents a year apart a few years ago. Put on 50 lbs in that one year alone. Still can't believe how much weight I've put on in the last decade. I want it off now!

We'll get to Onederland together. It will be a great way to head into summer! :frown:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
