Everytime I see my surgeon for a fill, I remember that I paid him an awful lot of $$$ to see me naked!!!

^That's the SPIRIT!!

By the time you see the doc for your post-op follow up, they will have seen so many other patients, they won't remember.

I have been awake during several procedures in the OR, believe me, they're talking about EVERYTHING but your nakkidness :cool2:

I am a nurse and work in the OR. The patient wears their gown into the room, slides over to the OR table, we put warm blankets on them and the safety strap. We stand by the patient and help anesthesia as they put you to sleep. Once you are asleep we put the blanket on your lower half, bring your gown up to cover your chest area and anesthesia puts a blanket warmer over this area. We clip hair if needed and prep the abdomen. The people in the room at this time is anesthesia, the circulater, the scrub and the doctors assistant. We really do talk about our weekends, or singing along to the music we play. You have no worries.

I haven't read all of the posts but just to put you at ease...you will be covered with a surgical drape and only the small area on your belly that they are workiing on will be exposed. I also have to tell you as a nurse, it's sooooo true one you've seen one naked patient you've seen them all!!

I was wearing a gown and several blankets when I went into the OR, I don't really remember even moving to the Operating table, I was wearing the same gown and warm blankets when I woke up in the recovery room. What happened inbetween is that I got a marvelous tool that has helped me lose 40 pounds in four months, You gotta do what you gotta do, you won't remember a thing. Keep your eye on the prize!

By the time they gave me the drugs to get rid of my nerves before they even took me into the operating room, I could have be paraded down the hall naked and I wouldn't have cared!

Yeah whatever they gave me to calm my nerves was almost enough just to perform the surgery. I was up running around my room in my bra and underwear lol.

LMAO!! Too funny! SO, you obviously weren't embarassed to be seen by others in your unders, so why be embarrassed to be seen necked by the OR crew??? Too funny!

Good thing my mother in law has a sense of humor since she was my support that was there....... she is about 125 soaking wet. She asked the nurse to give her some too. She wouldn't tho.

I have had 11 surgeries in my life, 10 on my abdomen. You are covered with a blue drape cloth except for the part they are working on. So nothing really shows.

They let me wear my own knickers instead of the hospital ones so they only uncovered down to my waist to get to the bits they needed. They usually uncover you and put a drape over the area they'll be cutting into.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
