Looking for food ideas that does not include milk of any kind

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 4/8/08 and am just starting the reg. food stage and I still have about 1-1/2 more weeks before my first fill. I get very hungry and I seem to be eating a lot before I feel full. I'm interested in finding a Protein Shake or something (to help fill the void) that doesn't have any kind of milk product. I tried one that said it was lactose free but it had whey and it almost killed me. Sometimes those lactose pills just don't work either. The cramping pain isn't worth the taste of some of those shakes. Does anyone have any ideas they would like to share? I am trying to keep my foods low carb. My body seems to do better.

You can find a soy-based product instead of whey-based. However, if you are starting the solid food phase, then you need to drop the shakes and other liquid calories. (unless you are too tight in the morning for solids, but that's unlikely until you have more fill in the band)

Time to fill up on solid food -- chicken, beef, fish, turkey, veggies, fruits, and whole grains. Take a Calcium supplement since milk disagrees with you, and just avoid milk products altogether.

It's easy to get in the US RDA of Protein every day with just regular food.< /p>

I know some people have problems with eggs, but I don't. It's high in Protein and one deviled egg is just right to hold you over if you're hungry. I like curry in my deviled eggs, so I get somethiing zippy and spicey and high in protein. I make it with fat free miracle whip, curry and minced purple onion. (Sometimes relish)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
