Confused about terms ETT/Belt Lipectomy/LBL

Recommended Posts

Are all of these terms the same procedure? The way the surgeon explained it is that he would do the incision all the way around (belt), which would enable him of course to do the TT and to also lift the outer thighs and lift the butt. It will also help eliminate some of the lower back fat. He called this a belt lipectomy. I haven't heard it used in those terms before, but is this the same as a lower body lift that I read about on here sometimes? Thanks for any replies.

It sounds like what my doc called a "circumfrential tt". Did he say that the incision would be all the way around the body? If so then it allows them to pull the skin tight on both the upper thigh, the back and the tummy. I have never heard of a belt lipectomy, but you could google it. An extended Tummy Tuck is what I am having and what I know LJM had. For me they are cutting mid hip to mid hip. I am also have a vertical incision also known as an "inverted-T" My doc said that if I had a lot of back skin that she would have done the complete circle, but since I carried all of my weight in my tummy that I didn't need it. Hope this helps, but I would try googling it...or calling the surgeon and ask.

Yes he did say the incision would go all the way around versus hip to hip. I have a lot of back fat so that is why. Thanks so much for your reply it does help a lot. I am going to google it now!

Yes, a belt lipectomy is a lower body lift. I had mine done 12/20/07, 4 months ago today. The recovery has been a lot more than I thought it would be, but everyone is different. It has been worth every penny. I was a size 12 before surgery and am now a size 8 and can even wear some 6's. Now if I can just afford to get a mastopexy (breast lift), I think I'd be done with reconstructive surgery. Good Luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
