Lingering discomfort in left side.

Recommended Posts

I should start out by saying that my port is to the upper right of my belly button.

Anyway, I have ongoing disomfort in my left side, which feels like when you've walked or run too much -- like "a stitch in the side" kind of feeling. I am 13 days out of surgery, and otherwise feeling good (albeit with some unusual food dreams at night).

Has anyone experienced this?

Yes! Me right now. I'm about 11 days out and I still have that pain. Actually, I have allowed it to dictate how much walking I do being affraid that I might do harm. But I have been told to work up to the pain. I have my 2 week f/u on Wednesday and plan to discuss it with my surgeon.

Hi, Cheryl Ann and Godshelp. Congratulations to you both on getting banded! I was banded on 3/12 and I also experienced an uncomfortable feeling on my left side, under my rib cage. It does feel like a catch and also sort of like an inflated ballon type of pressure under my rib cage.

I've also been feeling bloated or tight after eating and I mentioned it to my surgeon. He said that I may be eating too fast. Not sure if this is anything like you're both experiencing.

In the last week, I have not noticed this feeling much at all...so I think I may be turning another corner and that pain is dissappearing. I still get the full/tight feeling, but found out from my doctor's office that it's actually restriction I'm feeling. In fact, looks like I won't need a fill -- at least for now.

Continued good luck to you both and I hope that you find this feeling passes for you both.:biggrin2:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
