schedule for removal

Recommended Posts

So after 2 1/2 years I must say bye bye band. Dr office just call to confirm my removal on 4/28.

It has been four long months of testing that resulted on a final visit for an endoscopy that show the band erored.

I have only lost 45# since my operation but went from a size 22/24 to 14/16 andI'm truly happy with results.

I'm not sure that I will be a approve for a new band or that I'll be able to get a band due to scar tissue:cursing:. Has anyone who expirience erossion had their band replace and if so how long did you wait?

I have had my band for one year and I have to have my band removed April 24th - next Thursday

I am not getting rebanded - I will join the gym for all the troubles I have had for the past year and for only 16 pounds to me it wasn't worth it.

if I ever were to have anything again it would be like 6 to 8 months out and I would have the gastric by pass.

I am sorry you are going through this. I think we were in one of the support groups together back in the beginning. I hope everything goes well for you. What symptoms were you having? Hopefully they will be able to re-band you. Let us know how you make out.

I have not been reading up on this site lately, but feel I should let you all know my experience. The good and the bad. I was originally banded 2 years ago, lost about 100 pounds the first year and all was well......until.....I could not even swallow my own spit ! I was in so much stinkin' pain so I went to the ER and they took all of my fill out and the next week I had the slipped band "repositioned" and stitched. I gained a few , maybe 10 pounds, over the next year and then, again....symptoms. This time I was vomiting everything I ate and liquids barely made it down. I let it go for a few weeks hoping that "it" could not have happened again. Well, the barium swallow showed the same slip. So, 3 weeks ago I had the band taken out and the newer type of band put in. I am in HEAVEN !!!! This band is fantastic (so far of course) and I don't have a fill but have re-lost 7 pounds ! Just a note: when all seems like this is not worth it, hang in there ! I came close to having them haul the band out and leave it out, but I thank God I did not. I am so happy and I don't care that I have had 3 surgeries. :scared2:

I am sorry that I don't knowthe name of the bands but they are both from Inamed. I have the 4cc band and this one is the newer version that is a complete roundish circle and has "treads" inside so that is is softer and grips better so as not to slip. The older ones were not a complete circle and I have heard that is is believed that part of the stomach can actually slip out of it a little. I am not certain this is true, but I believe that is part of what happened to me. The new band is so much better and I am lovin' life. By the way, I just started up a beauty business because of my new found self-esteem I started up a new beauty business with Mary Kay. Order 24/7 off my website. Please e-mail me for my site.Being a fellow BANDSTER, receive at 20% off !!!!! Mention BANDSTER in comments. I hope you all are taking great care of yourselves; before, during and after the surgery. Feeling good is so wonderful and now I am looking fabulous too. Try out the new MINERAL Makeup line and for those of you (like me) who need a boost brightening and tightening the facial skin........the SPF Day Radiance.......It is FABULOUS !!!!!!! Kathleen

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
