May 6th Srgy during 3wk vacation

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am having surgery 5/6-out of town. We are taking our 5th wheel and plan on post op having a vacation. We wouldn't wander far from Hospital. Are we only dreaming??

I have no idea and after reading posts it looks like it's more or less a personal experience-differing. I have a bad back and leg--so my first concern was if I could struggle up the steps of our RV without hurting my surgery. I got a yes on that one--"just don't fall"..

If we just take it easy, could it be possible--does anyone know?

OR will I probably be miserable?

Thanks, and if I don't hear from anyone we'll see... dicev:unsure:

Yes, be careful! I'll bet you'll be fine as long as whoever is with you doesn't expect you to cook or be responsible for any of the traveling duties! If you have a comfortable place to lie down, have your proper post-op liquids, and pain med. you will be fine! Good luck! SS

Hi, I had a rare complication post op... I couldn't urinate and needed a catheter for two days, that was the pits. Had no problems other than that. It took a week for me to go back to work, after the catheter was removed all was well and I got better each day. Have your diet waiting and liquid pain meds in the trailer. Also walking helped sooooo much. If you are traveling, you need to stop a lot and walk. Like every hour or so. If you spend 8 hours going down the road without stops, you might be very uncomfortable.

Good luck...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
