Hi Maria, why don't you start a thread to intrduce yourself and tell everyone who is the md and where and why and how you got to this decision. The people on this board are wildly supportive and very real. I hope you find the support you need from here.

My name is Maria. My surgeon is Dr. Trivedi in Hackensack. I am going for the psych exam on tueday and surgeon appointment on 4/18 and the support group meeting on 4/21/05. I am hoping my insurance will approve the surgery soon thereafter.

I have come to this decison after going to seminar a year ago. I have tried so many diets and have lost but gained it back. At this point in my life my metabolism is slow and my self control is gone. I am hoping that this lap band surgery will make me feel full thus help me lose the weight I need to lose.

Maria,

Try doing your introduction in the "Introductions" forum. Many more people will see it there and respond to you rather than in a thread that has nothing to do with welcoming new people. I spent a couple of days just surfing around and getting the hang of all the cool controls and ways to post first.

Congrats on your decision though and welcome to LBT!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
