Hey Livin - GREAT job . . .and your scars are almost invisible! Mine are still purpleish - one is fading out . . . but the other 4 are VERY noticeable (not that I'm wearing a bikini so it really doesn't matter lol). Great job . . .keep up the good work!

I would love to show my face but since I have a high profile job with a bunch of geek computer people I can only imagine the fun things they could do with my picture. I have also not told anyone at my work that I have gotten it done and when they ask I say low carb. If I knew for a fact back in December it would have worked for me I would have been more vocal but since I was an out of pocket LBer I didn't want to take that chance and look like a fool. The only time it bothers me to "lie" or keep my personal life personal is when an obese friend ask me how I did it. I feel bad because this surgery has been so wonderful for me and I want to give him the advice.

LivingTheDream,

I am sure it was a very personal decision to not tell anyone and none of us judge you for that. I wasn't sure who I was going to tell for a long time...but figured it would keep me more accountable...but that is me.

Maybe when an obese friend says something you can share your calorie intake, your exercise goals, and your new eating style with them. All the bandster rules without calling them that. The lifestyle change is possible without the band, it just is easier with it. Maybe that would help??

You look awesome though! Great job!

Thanks! I do feel really good! I've found that coming here on a regular basis as well posting and being accountable. Find a group that will keep you in step. It really does help.

I think I could be further along had I really paid close attention to my exercise but I quit and now I've got to start over on it. Do it daily....no excuses. I found excuses for the last 20 years and that's why I needed the band in the first place. It's time for me to put them away and get with the program. With exercise you could be at goal in a year....without, doubtful.

Goodluck an keep coming back! Stay active here. It has been a Godsend for me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
