When I first had the surgery for several days I had severe hickups. Well Monday I got my first fill and Monday night Tuesday I was having severe hiccups. ANyone else have this problem? Drinking Water doesn't help, any suggestions.

I hiccup when something slow has cleared the stoma, or when my stoma is irritated. I sometimes get them out of the blue, but I can't relate it to fills. I can most definitely relate hiccup activity to band activity, though.

As soon as I got my fill I felt like I had to belch. It was weird. But then I hiccupped when I drank the Water they gave me. I use to never hiccup before I got the band, maybe once every 3 or 4 months. And when I have resctriction I hiccup like once every two days. It doesn't last long, but I do it. Since getting my first fill on Tuesday I've had two hiccupping sessions. Maybe its from the restriction or swollowing air, I'm not sure. It doesn't bug me though. It actually kind of tells me 'yes, you have good restriction' and I like that.

I get the hiccups all the time now! It drives me crazy. However when I start getting full, I hiccup 1 time - it is a warning (I guess). But I got the hiccups 3 times yesterday and it wasn't when I was eating or anything - and they lasted forever!

I too get the hiccups on a daily basis. Sometimes they are "hard" ones and actually hurt a bit. Mostly it's a sign to stop for me. My youngest step-daughter thinks it is funny and at the dinner table before they start, she always looks at me and says "i predict you will get the hiccups", like she's telling my future! LOL

I get the hiccups too and I know it is band related. It's not the type of hiccups that you can't get rid of, it is my warning sign to stop eating or if I am really tight I hiccup once or twice even when not eating. We have a very interesting little tool in our bodies. It is so interesting.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
