  2. Sunday evening I was eating supper like I normally do before I get ready for work had part of a pork chop, carrot and potato. Well I got really heavy feeling and got in the shower to get ready for work started dry heaving then started throwing up. Got in my car to come to work and my chest was hurting and my stomach and just kept throwing up. Got to work which is 30 minutes from my house still throwing up. Got to where I couldn't swallow my own saliva. Called panicking looking for my surgeon. Guess what you guessed it HE WAS OUT OF TOWN!! The surgeon on call told me to meet him in the ER. He had the directions and an emergency tackle box, to me to floro radiology and accessed my port to relieve some of the saline in my band. Got pretty much immediate relief. My pork chop came on through. Still had to spend the night in the hospital, did alot of damage to my stomach. Taking carafate slurry for 3 months and nexium liquid, also on clear liquids for the next 7 days! This is my preaching lesson for now. CHEW CHEW CHEW and cut your pieces up into little bitty child size or eraser size pieces I mean it or you will wind up like me in teh ER thinking that you were gonna die and have your lap band surgically removed.
  3. CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!! I'm excited for ya. Try not to dribble don't talk about politics or your exes and you should be fine. Between you and me I've not been on a date in 3 years! I would love to just doesn't seem to be anyway asking lately
  4. Hello, My name is Kim need to update my signature I'm over 3 months post op. Like you for the first several days I felt winded. It is a normal occurance with being put to sleep. When you are put to sleep the machine breathes for you and your lungs don't expand like normal so for awhile you will get short of breath. Practice pursed lip breathing breath in your nose for 5 seconds, hold 5 seconds, then crunch your lips together and push the air out of your mouth for 5 seconds. Do that over and over 4-5 times a day for a week you will feel better. I was nauseated after my surgery for a few weeks, I did feel full at first with just drinking water. As time passes you will not feel as full. You seem to be doing fine. Gas is expected and walking, lots of walking is the only cure I found to help. I also got fed up of clear liquids and went to full liquids a little bit ahead of schedule. I was eating pudding by the 4th day and making yogurt smoothies, my tummy didn't like all the protein shakes I would throw them up!
  5. I had the same problem with my doc. I have had one fill but now eating a little more and getting hungry quicker but since I've lost 46 pounds in 2 months he refused to fill me, didn't want me losing so fast
  6. I must say I feel more encouraged after reading your post. I have been sick the past week not exercised and I work at night so missery has set in the past couple of days. People are actually starting to notice I'm losing weight. It makes me excited and scarred all at the same time.
  7. THank Ya'll so much. It makes since that we are hiccuping because we are full.
  8. When I first had the surgery for several days I had severe hickups. Well Monday I got my first fill and Monday night Tuesday I was having severe hiccups. ANyone else have this problem? Drinking water doesn't help, any suggestions.
  9. You should come to Tupelo and let Dr. Pinson do your surgery. Fills are only 22.50 for me after my free period. Self Pay I'm not sure but that much you quoted is outrageous
  10. All you can do is ask, who knows knowing my doctor in Tupelo, he might. 377-slim
  11. Can someone add my date, 3/24
  12. Mine is the 24th and the doctor said if I was loosing good he wasn't going to fill me  but I think I need the restriction, Im currently in bandster hell
  13. Trust me I didn't think I would be able to sleep myself. I felt like I had just gotten to sleep and they woke me up and put a CPAP machine on me. My doctor made me go without caffine or chocolate and not take a nap for the day. By midnight even with all them wires I was sawing logs. I have felt 300 times better since getting diagnosed with sleep apnea and sleeping nightly with my cpap.
  14. Thanks so much for all the support! Like most of you food is having alot less control over my life than it did pre surgery. I'm not really hungry but am working on healing my new stomach and like some of you said boy does it act weird and digestive surgery is a really big deal. This morning my stomach cramped and cramped but it was trapped gas. I walked some and this afternoon I've been walking and took a nap guess my body is still really gassey!
  15. I was banded on 2/5/08 currently on clear liquids and graduate to full on next Tuesday I've gained a pound, anyone have that problem?
