Phew. $100 is manageable. $500 gave me palpitations! ;)

Any BWH / Faulkner folks get worked up at BWH but have their surgery at Faulkner? BWH is way more convenient for me for appts, etc, but I know a ton of people there. For privacy reasons, I would prefer to have the surgery at Faulkner since it would involve an overnight stay. Private versus double rooms are a bonus as well!

I actually had to pay $500. But maybe they reduced the fee? It's the same fee regardless of who the MD is. It allows you to have access to program resources such as the nutritionist post surgery. If I remember correctly, I had to pay $100 upfront and then had to make sure the rest was paid prior to the surgery being scheduled.

I believe you should be able to get your work up done at BWH and then have the surgery at Faulkner. I actually see my surgeon for followup visits at both locations. It's the same program so it shouldn't matter. If I had to do it all over, I totally would have the surgery at Faulkner (no private room at BWH).

Missy, have you gotten any closer to a decision? I am seeing Dr. Vernon tomorrow, but at this point in time I think I am leaning towards the vertical sleeve gastrectomy. I will see what Dr. Vernon says though.

For those who are still curious, the current fee is $550, but this includes lifetime follow up and support through the groups and department. While I hate paying so much, this seems like a good investment to me!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
