Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Can you name 1, or 2 things you would love to do once you reach your goal?

Great thread! I'd like to do so many of the things listed here...go on amusement rides, feel comfortable in intimate moments with my DH, shop for normal clothes in a normal store.

Yet, lets not forget that the journey is as important as the destination. We learn valuable lessons along the way about ourselves (including our eating habits and motivations...or demons) and...so while it's nice to think about what we'd like to do "when"... I encourage everyone to appreciate the successes so far and what you've learned about yourself along the way too.

I was thinking about this and have actually thought about this most of my like. Like hmmm what will i do once i loose the weight, where will i go to show off..lol.. etc.. If i could have my own way. I would throw a fashion party, and invite everyone that has ever called me fat in life, treated me bad, denied me a promotion, those that did not want to be my friend...(when i was younger), my x-boyfriends, and x husband..Oh not to forget my son's father...lol.. and i would do a Tyra Banks and walk down a runway in diffrent outfits i mean dressed to kill... prehaps im feeling this way because there is a ANTM marathon on now... but I want them all to C-ME-NOW (then) I can just hear it now omg u look soo good.. how did u do it? And the guys saying so r u seeing anyone... can i get your number to call u later... uhhhh nope..lol.. I want to be able to go into any store and pick up a pair of shorts, mini skirt or jeans and know that it will fit. I want to be able to catch a clearance sale and only pay $3-$5 bucks for clothes vs $9.99-$19.99 being my clearance price because of my size.. I want to buy a pair of Guess jeans, and a pair of Girbaud jeans, and strut my stuff.

Uh well I have a list of ten things that getting the weight off will do for us. check my link: Get Banded Now provides Lap Band Bariatric Surgery, Weight Loss Surgery and Gastric Bypass Surgery

Oh and dress like a slut ? Pictures please!! JK

A couple of things that I would do after losing the weight would be to go on a roller coast with my kids. (Since they have a weight limit now of 200 lbs.) I would also like to buy clothes that are cute and have them actually fit right and comfortable. I would love to be able to walk, run and travel with my kids and family without having to make special arrangements for me on airplanes or being pushed around amuzement parks. THAT IS MY DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!

I look forward to getting really dressed up, going out for a night on the town, and having an awesome time knowing that I look great and feel confident and good about myself. Also, wearing a really cute bathing suit and looking amazing in it to the beach or Water park.:)

Simple things, like everyone here: Cross my legs while sitting; get down on the floor and be able to get up again without Herculean effort; walk around the block at a fairly rapid pace without feeling like my lungs are about to explode; feel the cold in my bones in the winter; be able to wear a swimsuit without feeling so self-conscious; get out of an armchair without finding that I'm "wearing" it...

...most of all, be the mother my kids can barely remember.

I want to know if you REALLY do get treated differently because you're fat.

I want to be able to play with my son and not worry he will get away from me.

I want to shop for clothes outside the plus size section.

I want to be the arm-candy my husband deserves!

and...I think I MIGHT want to try a mini-marathon.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
