Plastic Surgery

Recommended Posts

I do hope you get banded and can be as happy as possible in the end. I doubted myself all along the way. Frustration can be bad but keep your mind committed and it can happen. I spent a year at 160 pounds and I felt it was just a lost cause. Not so... I got here after all.

Keep the faith and keep on with your pursuit of it all.

I can attest to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Love to all,

Sandy

I have an overhanging tummy, but what I find worse is that I have a significant muffin top or spare tyre (tire to the US gals) which I find is much worse than the overhanging tummy. Has anyone had surgery for the spare tyre?

I haven't been banded yet and in fact I just got my date yesterday. My surgery will be Oct 13 and I am happy I found this thread. I had mentioned in another forum that I hope to get a TT and a BL once I have reached my goal and so many of the those ladies (very young) told me that I probably wouldn't need a TT as long as I do weight training as I lose weight. I knew that is couldn't be true, especially for those of us who are older.

Actually, Anne, you will have much better skin tone as you lose weight if you do work out - both cardio and weight training. May not totally eliminate the need for plastic surgery, but it will help. The additional benefit of weight training is that building muscle will improve your metabolism, burn more calories, and help you maintain your loss. It's a win-win!

The kids among us may be able to maintain their skin tone somewhat better than us, but we can still help ours along.

Good luck on your surgery. I am hoping for an October date, too. I should hear next week.

Joann:

Good luck on getting your approval.

Thanks for the information about excercising. It is true about that muscle tone has many benefits. I also understand that our skin is less elastic as we get older.

Anne

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
