Fibrocystic Breasts & weight loss

Recommended Posts

I've had past problems with fibrocystic breasts, and after a couple quiet years with good mammogram reports, I recently discovered I have quite a few new cysts. I was so confused as to what I was doing differently that could have started this all up again. I've really been upset and baffled, until I read in an unrelated post that women store estrogen in our fat supply, and as we lose weight we get a surge in this hormone. I just had an AHH-HAA moment, and I really think that this might be what's going on with me. Anyone else dealing with this? Do you think this might possibly be what is going on? Any idea how long the extra estrogen surges last? Do the levels go down once you hit "normal" weight? Thank you in advance for your input.

Hi Kim, sorry, I have not personally had any experience with this. I thought I would bump the thread for you to see if anyone else has though.

My gyn did tell me that there is a link between breast cysts and caffeine.....so I'm hoping that my dropping caffeine for the surgery will help my boobies. I, too, have had a lot of problems with breast cysts.

I have a similar problem. I think part of it might be that when your breasts get a little less dense with weight loss, the cysts are easier to detect. I would think the hormonal shifts with weight loss would be a factor too. Just a thought.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
