I'm having port revision on 3/12!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

I'm not new to Lapbandtalk but I am a lurker. I am posting to find out who else have had their port repositioned.

My port flipped after a bad fall down the stairs (I think)! LOL:crying:

Thanks

Hi, I had to have revision surgery to re-stich my port after it flipped. I dont' know how it flipped, but it just came undone about 2 months after surgery.

I'm seven months out and never had restriction. I'm thinking my port had flipped from the get go.

Was your port revised with local anesthesia or general?

general...

they found out when they couldn't access the port to give me my 2nd fill. Then they put me under xray and could see the port flipped.

I had my port flip about 4 months after I got banded. It was not a big deal, I was in and out of the surgery center within a few hours and back to work the next day.

I had it too, it's a lot easier than the first surgery. Good luck :))

I was banded in January 2007. The first time it came up was probably March or April of 2007. I had revision surgery in August, which was a cinch. But...it came up AGAIN. I haven't even bothered to go for another revision because I have only had 2 fills, and have reached my goal. I am starting to reconsider though because I experience significant pain when I work out with my trainer.

Wow, so this port flips frequently? I have never restriction and have only lost the initial 20 pounds. It has always been a battle to get the right fill. According to my old doctor (have a new one now due to medical coverage) I have 3cc's in my 4cc band, but I don't think that is the truth because I would've had restriction and that has never happened to me. I think the NP at the old doc's office was not getting the port right or she nicked it and I have a leak.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
