  1. Just 2 weeks ago my band was removed because of esophageal dysmotiliy, chronic heartburn and deferred left shoulder pain. I am now free of the left arm pain but I am gripped by the fear of getting huge! I did not qualify for a revision to another wls becaus eof all my esophagus issues. Anyone else in the same boat? What to do?
  2. Thanks its on 7/6 and i am psyched!
  3. Hi! I've had the stupid shoulder pain for 4 years and I have found myself laying on the floor at work under the conference room table crying in pain. But no more, this band is coming out in two weeks!!
  4. Living with this band has been the worst thing I've ever had to do. One port revision surgery and a stomach full of scars! I've had the horrid pain in my left arm since day one and it never left me. I now have esophageal dysmotility, acid reflux, need to sleep propped up so that I don't gag at night. Have not had any decent meals in 4 years, can't eat any kind of meat, rice, lettuce, fruits. I am anemic and my skin is breaking out due to hormonal imbalances. Oh and no period for the last 5 months due to my anemia! Nice, huh? I hate this band and I am not sad to wish it good riddance! I only lost 20 pounds and gained it back, all of it.
  5. NO WAY! This was a mistake that has cost me 3 years of left shoulder pain and depression.
  6. I was banded 7/2007 and I still have left shoulder pain! The pain can be crippling sometimes and it is there EVERYDAY. The doc doesn't listen to me and I feel weird changing my surgeon again. I'vr done it twice already. So I have given up on the band and want it gone.
  7. Thanks Elcee, I will look into support.
  8. Revised my thoughts from yesterday.
  9. Thanks guys, I will ask for a barium swallow and going back to the nutritionist. I seriously need to get this journey back on track. I will keep in touch!
  10. I have 4cc's in my 4cc band.
  11. I have not posted in here for a while. I had my band surgery on July 9th, 2007. It has been over a year and my weightloss has been very minimal. I have had 5 fills and never really get good restriction. This past June was my last fill at capacity and no restriction. I am so down right now. I read the success that many people have had with the band and I am not one of them. I have given up on myself and it feels horrible. I have not gained or lost any weight since June. But I still eat like before surgery, I stress eat and I can't stand it anymore!! I don't exercise but I want to, is that weird? I get all hyped up that once I start working out again I will get to goal and my band will probably work. Then it all goes away in a day or two. What is wrong with me? How can I get out of this funk?
  12. I think I'm going to cease on the exercise. I'm working 45 minutes every morning on my treadmill and weights twice a week. I'm eating 1200 calories a day.
  13. I am now 8 months since surgery and have lost 20 pounds. I have not had proper restriction since day one. Then my port flipped early March and I had to have surgery to get it fixed. My band was empty until April 3rd and I now have 2cc's in my 4cc band. Still no restriction and no weightloss. To make things worst for me I've gained 5 pounds from the 20 I lost. Discouragement is taking over me and I am becoming more and more obsessed with this band. How do I handle this?:tongue_smilie:
  14. Wow, so this port flips frequently? I have never restriction and have only lost the initial 20 pounds. It has always been a battle to get the right fill. According to my old doctor (have a new one now due to medical coverage) I have 3cc's in my 4cc band, but I don't think that is the truth because I would've had restriction and that has never happened to me. I think the NP at the old doc's office was not getting the port right or she nicked it and I have a leak.
  15. Good, because I have the nerves like the day before my band surgery! I'm freaking out!
