7 days post op and my port site seems really swollen?

Recommended Posts

Anyone has almost a protruding port site? I hope the port is not messed up. I had a lot of violent vomiting for about 3 days post op. Banded on 2/28

I was also banded on 2/28. My port site is still a bit swollen and sore, but nothing too extreme. My surgeon said that was the incision he would be most concerned about if there was an issue. One of my upper incisions has been very swollen and puffy from day one. It is healing well and not infected, just puffy. You might want to give the doctor a call just to be on the safe side.

I'm with ya. I can feel my port right under my incision. That is not where it is supposed to be located. I also did a lot of violent vomiting several days after surgery. I go back to the surgeon next week and I'm sure he'll tell me if something is wrong. I don't think it's a major deal to get it turned right, just more pain and I'm tired of this port pain. Oh well, whatever it takes..

Do you have an appt with your surgeon soon?

Yes, I go on the 11th. I am 20 pounds down since my first dr visit 3 weeks ago. 10 pounds since the surgery. I am hungry though. Tired of liquid and semi-liquid diets.

I was just feeling the same thing (banded 2/26) the port incision is much harder than the others - unfortunatly I still can't lay down without it hurting on the inside. I'm getting sick of my recliner.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
