My Port Has Flipped!

Here ya go.

You can see what this is, my boobs up top, belly on bottom?

Right between my boobs, is the new location.

The bottom bandage is where it was.

It's RIGHT under my skin, so I can feel every detail of it. If I am laying on my back, and I run my hand over my body I can most definitely feel it. My DH says he can see it when I'm laying down and only if I point to where it is.. so It's not too obvious. Even if it was, I don't care.. my doc said he can take the port out when I get to goal, but I'm not interested. I'd rather be able to keep adjusting it throughout my life. I like playing with the port, it's neat.

So.. even if I was in a skimpy bikini (never happen), no one would notice it, no.

Oh, and yeah, it's right above my bra line. That was only problem for a few days post-op because it was sore and healing. Now it's fully healed and my bra does not hurt it, I don't even notice it. Actually going to take a pic real quick at work on my cell.. hope no one walks by

Here-- You can see the scar kind of under my left breast. (not the small one under the bra, that's from the first surgery lapscropic tool stuff).

Hey y'all! Well, I think I may have a flipped port or a floating port (I think I may have pulled all the stitches..not sure) Anyways, it's been stabbing me, poking me, etc. At times, it takes my breath away so I'm not sure what happened.

When your port flipped, did you experience any pain with it? It's not constant but, it stabs me when I least expect it.

So, I have an appointment with the Dr. tomorrow. I hope it's okay but I have a feeling it will need to be replaced. YUCK!!

Oh, I just looked at my weight. I'm still at 218. 5. Oh, well..I'm not up and I love my band. LOL

I had bad pains and ended up at the ER early on thinking I had a blood clot. It's only speculation, coulda been the port. I also still have the sharp pains when I inhale every once in a while in the left side, and I assume its tubing hitting a nerve.. since I can feel every inch of my port now, I know it's not flipped.

At my last fill, the nurse said i must have pulled all the stiches b/c my port was just "floating"... called the Dr's office and the nurse said it wasn't a big deal and wouldn't cause any damage. But i agree, it is a bit painful at inopportune times! I have a drs. appointment in a few weeks to figure out what to do. My last fill when they noticed it wasn't pleasant at all!

Just to update y'all that my port is fine. I've just lost more belly fat and it seems to have pushed upwards some. I haven't had any pain all week..yay! So, I guess next time I feel a stab, it's just a wierd type of normal. LOL!!

Now, if only my weight loss wasn't so slow..but, the Dr. is very happy with my results. I'll take it. LOL

My surgeon doesn't sew the ports in as that way its more easy to manuever around and if it does flip he can try to wiggle it back in place w/o having to do surgery. *shrug* whatever made sense to me. But I can feel it when I rub my belly and it'd be easy to tell if it flipped thats for sure.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
