Calling all April Bandsters!!!!

Hello everyone...I am being banded on April 10th. I am so excited! Seems like it's been forever to get to the countdown, but I think it'll be here before we know it!

Anyone else scheduled in April? We need to come up with a group name!

Carol

I'm not sure if there is a way to chat other than on here I will give you my email address. It is workgirl29@yahoo.com email me anytime. It is nice to have somone going through this the same time as I am. I too have a major love for food. I guess we all do thats why we are here....lol. I hope to hear from you soon!!1

Hi NeNe. It's Carol, another April 8'er from Ohio. Hope your pre-op diet is going ok. Dr. is Trace Curry in Cincinnati, self pay. One week to go. Hang in there. I am drinking lots of water to feel full.

Hi Carol 4784,

Actually, I only have to do a two-day preop. So I won't start fasting until Sunday, April 6th. What does your pre-op diet consist of?

I cant believe only 9 more days!! Day 2 liquid diet is not too bad, although I do have a major headache right now. Discovered today that I like cottage cheese when I forced myself to try Breakstones cottage doubles w/ peach topping. It was a little odd as far as consistency, it felt really strange chewing & swallowing it, but overall, it will be tolerable as a lunch. So far the broth has been the worst, I love Swansons chicken broth when I make homeade chicken noodle soup, but drinking it plain is disgusting! I gotta find a better broth or I will never make it thru this preop diet. I have to have no more than 3 servings of dairy a day, SF popsicles/fudgesicles/jello (all I want) & all the broth I want. (yuck!) Then for dinner I am allowed 1 small can of Campbells chicken noodle/beef noodle/or veggie soup. I am so glad I started the "modified" diet early cuz this would have been so incredibly hard to switch to from eating normally!

OK 5 days till surgery day and I am getting a litle nervous. April 7th is coming fast. Trying to not think about it but when u are on this preop diet that is all u think about. Then a patient brings in a home made Gob cake today and I showed great restraint and did not touch it and I LOVE THAT CAKE!! Guess I am getting better at this telling myself no thing lol

Hi everyone,

Have any of you started the liquid portion of your to prep for surgery? I have to go and review all of my tests with my surgeon and then it is off to the nutritionist for the liquid diet. I have been really excited about being banded, but now that is getting closer I am getting nervous. I wish you all the best with your up coming surgery dates.- Katkeen

I got my date! I'll be banded 4/16!!!!!!!!!

:biggrin2:

Try your cottage cheese with a little bit of cinnamon and splenda. It is really tasty.
