  1. Welcome back and congratulations on making goal!! You're an inspiration to those of us struggling to get there. I hope you and your family are well. How is your Mom doing? Karen
  2. The WLS Expo was at St Johns. They have it each year. It included speakers, Dr Cavanagh (new Dr working with Dr Edwards); Dr Shah, plastic surgeon and Lisa Rose, reporter on KY3 news and lap band patient. There was also a fashion show with several successful WLS patients modeling. I've signed up to be in the fashion show next year, so I have a deadline to get to goal. 71 down, 70 to go.
  3. It's been a while since I posted, not much going on. Weight is coming off sloooooooooowly, but at least it is coming off. Is anyone else planning on going to the WLS Expo on the 11th? Karen
  4. I'm sooooo jealous. You have collar bones! I haven't seen mine in decades.
  5. I got my 1st fill today, 5 cc's in my 14 cc band. I'm on liquids for 24 hours then mushies for another 24, so it'll be Saturday before I find out if I have any restriction. Liquids are going down without any problem. I'm crossing my fingers and toes, but I know it usually takes 3 to 5 fills to reach the sweet spot. As of this morning I'm down to 201.8, down 11.4 since surgery. I was soooo hoping to be below 200, but no such luck. I just need to learn to be patient.
  6. Here in Marshfield we got a bit of rain and a whole lot of wind, but nothing serious.
  7. Today was my first day of mushies and they're so much more satisfying than liquids. I put some chilli in the blender and it was sooooooo good! On a happy note, I'm down 8.4 pounds in the 2 weeks since surgery. :blushing:
  8. Dr Edwards # is (417) 820-3800.
  9. I wish I could go, but I work till 8 pm. Say hi to Janet and everyone for me. Happy Monday!:wink2:
  10. I know just how you feel. I was banded on the 16th and I'm still on full liquids (3 more days till mushies!). I've read other posts that suggested putting chili thru a blender. I hope it's good because that's what I'm planning for lunch on Wednesday. I'm soooooooooooo hungry!:smile2:
  11. Thank You!! :rolleyes2:
  12. Under our names and avatars it shows something called Rep Power. What the heck is that?
  13. Help! How long did it take for your stomach swelling to go down after surgery! It's been 3 days, and I still can't take more than 2 sips of anything before I get that rock in the middle of my chest feeling. Makes it rather hard to get in all the protein and fluids. :tongue_smilie:
  14. A divorce is no fun, but I'll bet getting rid of him will be a bigger weight off your shoulders (and spirit) than that 100 pounds. If there's anything you need, let me know. Good luck.
  15. I was banded yesterday and all is well. Very little pain (heating pad got rid of the shoulder pain) and I'm getting around without any problems. Now I just need to keep busy so I don't think about food! :tt1:
  16. There used to be a sticky with a list of things to take with you on the day of surgery, but now that I'm to be banded tomorrow the sticky is gone!! Where is it???????????
  17. 15 hours, 6 minutes and counting...........
  18. I'm still here, I just spend most of my time on the Springfield, MO board or on the April '08 board. Only 8 more day till banding!!!
  19. I don't know if Cox does WLS, I just assumed they did. My insurance requires using St Johns, so I didn't look any further. I'm just glad my insurance is covering my surgery. :-)
  20. Happy bandiversary Maziemommy!!!
  21. I finally got my date!! I'll be banded 4/16.
  22. Welcome! I don't know if you're going through St John's or Cox, but Dr Edwards a St John's holds monthly seminars about WLS that can answer a lot of your questions. You can also pick up paperwork there that's specific to your insurance company's requirements. Their # is 820-3800. Good luck!
  23. Hi Kim: You don't need to worry about what Doc E will think, he'll be thrilled!! You've lost 122 pounds in 1 year. That's an entire adult human being!!! You're doing fantastic!!!!!!! Congratulations and happy bandiversary! :w00t:
  24. Hi Kim: We're still here. I'm just still in hurry up and wait mode. I see Dr Edwards for my final consult and surgery date on April 1st and I'm just trying to keep from losing my mind waiting. I've been thinking of selling my house here in Marshfield and moving into Springfield, so I'm keeping myself busy giving the house a facelift before I put it on the market. Know anyone looking to buy a nice 2 bedroom 1 bath in Marshfield? New electric, plumbing, central a/c. Renovated bath.......... Happy Saturday. Karen
  25. Congratulations and may the luck of the Irish go with you into surgery!
