Emberassed to Ask.. Sci-Fi/War People Please!

DH is a sci-fi nut and didn't have an answer.

I bought the book I Am Legend. Good book, but in the back it has a series of short-stories. VERY MORBID short stories. Also good, I liked it a lot.

But there was one story about the "Loopy Dance" which was the Dance of the Dead. Now, I know it's a fictional writer and fictional short story but it makes references to the gas after WWII they realized the gas used to kill people, animated them, and thus the Loopy Dance.

Just wondering, was this true? When I google it, I don't get any good information.

Was the Loopy Dance a real term?

Great story. Matheson is a genius. But nope.......nothing like that in the dusty halls of history (I almost said annals....heehee). Have you ever noticed that a LOT of Matheson's stories revolve around the theme of contagion / alienation?
