wow, that just seems crazy - like I said ins required pysc eval but they sent me to someone on plan so I only had co-pay and no huge questions.

OH... love your avatar.. I just got a new tattoo of a moon and trailing stars but really like that

I absolutely love moons and stars.

I've been thinking about getting another tattoo but I fugured I would let that be my reward after I lose some weight:smile2:

Lets see if I can get this to work, this was brand new, I want to have the outlines re-done I think because they don't stand out that much since the scabs came off

Wow! I was surprised to find a thread on here just for Buffalonians! I'm in Kenmore and I just started the process. I have Independent Health and I have filled out the application and had my Dr. recommendation for medical neccessity sent over the Synergy in Williamsville. One of my fiance's friends was banded through that office, but I wish I had known about Dr. Hoffman! Either way, I am ready to get started. I have to admit though, I am very nervous about the surgery. I have never had surgery and there is just something very daunting about going to sleep, afraid that I will not wake up again.

So, do I have this process right? I filled out the application, sent my Dr. recomendation in, have my psych apt on 9/9/09 (at 9AM, wierd) and then I just wait for the surgeon to schedule a consulation and then they will submit to insurance? I called the insurance company to get the guidelines and they actually said this is becoming more and more common so they have seen shorter approvals. I even saw a comercial for it on TV!!! Do I have this procedure right? Any other advice other than to keep making phone calls to check progress?

Any advice would be appreciated!! Oh, and how do I find out when the seminars are available. Is it monthly, couple times a month, once every 2 months? I need to get started!!!

So happy to find a local support group!! :sneaky:

WELCOME NESSA. GREAT TO HAVE A NEW MEMBER!!!

I swear I was 203-205 for 6 months. Now I'm stuck at 188 -190 but i'm in onderland so i'm happy. It will go down this week, TOM just visitd

You guys have any great plans for today?

I am marinating chicken and going to throw it on the grill... I have mastered it so I can actually choke it down. That is it, other than getting ready for school.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
