H Gents,

Well my adventure has officially begun. I had my surgery this morning, everything went great. Feeling a little bit of the gas pain, but, nothing as to what I had prepared myself for. I actually feel really good, a little stiff, but all and all, I feel great.

Better run as it is time for painkillers...

Thanks for your warm wishes guys! Still going strong, pain is not bad at all.

I just got a call from my best man for my wedding in June. I told him what I had done, and to my surprise, he was very supportive. Guess that's why he is my best man.

I kept my surgery very quiet prior to heading out here. I have received a couple of calls, and it actually feels good to let it out. Janelle's sister and brother in law also found out, and they were supportive as well. It's all positive so far.

Who did you guys tell?

Gents,

Day 1 post op and I am feeling great. Pain is very, very managable, although I rolled onto my stomach last night in my sleep, not the best idea I could have had, but other than than that, things seem to good to be true.

I have to say that EVERYONE I've told has been really supportive. I don't think that I have the Best Dang Buncha Pals in the Whole Wide World, but I do have intelligent friends who see the need and understand the process.

Q, good to know you're going strong. And turning onto your stomach during your sleep says that you're doing well - if it had been too painful, you'd have woken up.

Crossing my fingers that mine will go as well...

Thanks Bro,

I am sure your surgery will go off without a hitch too. My mom wasn't very supportive when I told her, but everyone else has been very supportive and it is as though letting people know, lifts a great weight off my shoulders.

I've told people here and there and really have had mixed reactions, which is a bit of a bummer. Not that I'm looking for buy-in, but it the mixed reactions is kind of a bummer. When (not if) I start losing weight and people ask, I will tell them. Otherwise, I am not telling anymore people...

Q - holding everything down ok so far ?

Mike! You should probably skip the gym today. You don't want to go into surgery dehydrated and fuel-depleted...

hey Fenton - you're right. my back was stiff though this morning and i just did a 30 minute light walk to loosen it up before being tied down for the surgery. i feel great now (if not very anxious and excited) and allthough thirsty, not dehydrated.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
