Recommended Posts

slowly getting back into exercising and getting to love yoga again. Yesterday did an hour class and woke up sore everywhere but also by my port. For you yogies, will this go away as I strengthen my core?

Oh...I'm so happy someone answers this question. I am SO looking forward to getting back to yoga. I used to be an advanced Bikram student....those were the days of a rockin' bod!! I would LOVE to get back into it. My doc said "anything goes" in terms of poses etc, but I have been waiting to hear if anyone has done either Ashtanga or Bikram yoga since being banded.

New Me....hopefully you're just sore from class and the aches and pains will go away with strengthening. Good for you!!

I do Yoga-Pilates - just 2 hours per week. I went back into it VERY slowly, or should I say carefully. Yes, I did get a little sore when I started, the first week was quite sore. The area felt quite warm too until the next day. I took it really easy the next week and its been fine ever since.

I finally got to start on my weights/treadmill (nothing too drastic LOL) and the first day my port was really, pinchy and sore, but this settled very quickly too.

I think perhaps both times I just needed to stretch into it and it was a shock to my system!

I do yoga with some pilates several times a week starting 6 wks post op. At first I was nervaous about my port and a bit sore, but this passed quickly and I can do yoga as I did before I was banded with no pain or complications. I would start slowly and enjoy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
