Have you seen blood when pbing?

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 8/17/06, and have lost 90 lbs, but I am concerned that my band is too tight. Every once in a while I see a small spot of blood after pbing... Does this sound like erosion?

Thanks for your feedback !

I don't really have any other real symptoms, I can eat mushies and drink (not right after eating though, I have to wait at least an hour). I usually eat chips (2oz) and salsa for lunch.

What are Os?

Thanks for responding ! And for the welcome !

If it is a violent PB, you may have a tiny tear of the esophagus. That is not something to take lightly---it is time to ask the Dr. in my opinion.

My DH is not banded, but almost died from a tear to the esophagus---he almost bled to death!

I am not just trying to scare you, but I do feel it is something you need to see a Dr. for. We could guess and swap ideas with you all day, but none of us are qualified, and it IS your health we are talking about. Much better to see the Dr, and have a slight unfill, than to have a major esophageal tear, or an erosion and lose your band altogether!

Let us know what you decide to do....good luck!!! Welcome to LBT---I sure do hope all is ok with you!

Kat

I'll keep you all posted.

Well I went to my appt on Monday and discussed both erosion and slippage with my Dr. I feel much better now. He was concerned about the spot of blood, but reminded me to take small bites, chew, chew, chew, and stop eating when I have eaten my 2 oz.

Thanks everyone for the support !

BTW I lost 8.9 lbs this month !

No, my Dr. didn't order any. I will watch my behavior and if it continues (none lately) then I will insist on some sort of test.

PB: "productive burp" -- what happens when something eaten can't go down due to restriction has to come back up (That's a quote from another thread)

I found this definition in another thread.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
