Any Regrets Out Their?

not a single regret. The saggy skin is the only negative, but it beat very full, very large skin. If that makes sense?

Wow to everyone! I read these posts when I'm feeling down and wondering why I did this. These posts help to keep me motivated and focused. Your weight loss and confidence is an inspiration. I am reminded of why I did his and why it's important to keep working at it. I am also reminded that my eating and food choices have more to do with emotions than hunger. I am reminded of the importance of exercise to my physical and mental health. I am reminded that nothing good comes easy but through work an dedication. It is for these self-learnings that I have no regrets! It is because of the support I get from this site that I know this will be successful and that not just my life but the lives of my children have been improved!

There will always be naysayers, but what do you say? If you know a God, pray on it. Good luck with your choice.

I can honestly say that at the end of the day, I totally know that this will end up being the best thing Ive ever decided to do for myself. I am like 3 weeks out and I have lost 30 lbs including my pre op diet so Im happy. The only regrets I had was when my "fat brain" would try to make me think about all the junk food I used to love and how I wouldnt be able to eat them anymore or when I was trying to be greedy and eat a lil pizza and threw it right back up. but other than that im happy i did this and really cant wait till i see some great results in the months to come! i can definetly say that in the beginning there will be days when u wanna beat urself up for changing ur lifestyle so drastically, but then u think about how sexy u'll be soon and it all changes! i wish u the best of luck!!

I have no regrets about the band specifically, but in all honesty "I should have just had RNY" has crossed my mind on several occasions, especially the long period of time I had when fills weren't 'working'.

95% of the time I am glad I chose the band.

100% of the time I am glad I had some sort of WLS.

Thank you all for your post, I have so much enjoyed reading them. Now I only need to wait and see if the INC company approves me or not. Again thank you and if the Lord willing I too will be able to post my experences w the band.

Keep up the good work ALL you are doing GREAT.

Any one having trouble throwing up?

Could you be a little more specific please Shelly? I'm not sure what you mean by "trouble throwing up".

I don't have any trouble throwing up if something's not chewed properly or it's just the wrong type of food for me. It can sometimes take a little while for the stuck food to make it's way back out again. Once it does I have instant relief.

But if you're talking about too much restriction, then that's something different altogether and you should talk to your doctor about getting an unfill.

NOT A SINGLE REGRET. I've had my band for a year and have lost 30 lbs, with 20 to go. I began with a low BMI so I'm losing slower than some, but it's steady and I have nothing bad to say about the surgery or the band. I agree with whoever said that getting the accurate fill restriction is tricky. Since I'm self pay and in Canada, I can get fills or defills anytime, which makes it easier to get regulated and adjust when I need to.

i have no regrets...and a few months ago i posted "i hate my band"...those days are over. restriction took a while, and i have only lost 20 lbs, but i already see such an improvement in my health..no more blood sugar problems, no more high blood pressure, decreased Migraines, ...i was losing a lot of hair, and that was freaking me out, but i go a lot of it cut off and it quit.

i'm starting to save for cosmetics now .

The only regrets I have are related to myself, not the band. The band is just starting to really work for me now, so for a while I let the frustration get to me when I should have been trying to lose weight even though I had not reached restriction. But I would not change my decision for anything.

My only regret isn't specifically band related. I wish I had of planned ahead for the cost of plastic surgery. Its too much out of my financial reach right now and had I started saving on day one of my band, I'd be in a better place to be thinking about it now 17 months out when I feel I need it. That said, I would never give up my band. I'm happier and healthier 100+ pounds lighter.

Indio, I just got done registering online. I thank you for getting me that info, it was really easy and only took about 2 mins.

Not all my weight loss was after my surgery, I lost just over 60 LBS before hand. I wanted to be as healthy as possible so I could have a fast recovery.

I got to my goal a few months ago and I kind of fell off track and put a few lbs back on. I don’t know how much because I only weight my self at my doc’s office. I have a appointment for a fill on the 18th so I will find out how much then. Anyway I am looking forward to attending that support group on the 4/1 and hopefully I will see ya there.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
