Good Morn, Vi's~~

OK! Today is the day! Say it with me: Today is the day! The day that I will BEGIN AGAIN... not cave in to crap (such as, no "ice cream for lunch because we're on vacation" -- who am I kidding??)... move my bod for at least 30 mins... drink water... in other words... live like a proper bandster!! I am ready to get serious and GET RID of this last 40 to my 1st goal!! Raise your hand if you're with me!

Make it a great one, Vi's!

I'd say it with you but my mouth is full of banana chips!

Home from the Famliy Reunion.

What a blast. We had so much fun and I am pooped. So much kissing and hugging. I think I'm good for a year or more.

In the pic there is a woman in the front row wearing red pants, I'm right behind her in the zig-zag shirt looking to the side. They were still trying to set the picture up so not everyone is in it. And there were some that were missing because of a wedding. But that still left a huge bunch of us.

Now I'm gonna take my meds and head to bed.

Everyone have a great evening. Hugs to all.

Good evening, Violets.

I just got back from spending the day with our family at Kris's house. We had a cookout and then watched a slide show of pics from the cruise. And in the middle of the pics of the cruise was a pic of a pregnancy test and the results said "yes+" We all were shocked and then realized what that meant. I'M GONNA BE A GRANDMA AGAIN!!! Daughter Kris is pregnant!!! They've been trying for over a year and she's 4-5 weeks along now. They are not going to tell anyone else until after the first trimester, but I knew I could share my good news with my violets! I'm soooooooooo excited for her. She's been wanting this for so long. They will have lots to Celebrate on their 5th anniversary in August. The baby is due in March. Sooooooooooo we have to change our cruise we had booked for Hawaii for our 40th from March to February. No way I'm missing this birth!

I'm singing a solo in church tomorrow so am heading to bed to rest and relax and thank God for a new grandbaby!!

Everyone have a good night..

.....a city full of breeders! The family is obviously endowed with a high sex drive. My family is small. Do the math.

Judy - Congratulations to you and your whole family!! That is just awesome news!

Nothing going on here today, that's for sure.... I look like a total raccoon. I'm at the point where I wonder if I'll ever look normal again! If only banana chips had healing powers.....

Fantastic news, Judy... & such a creative way to share it!

Snap another pic Terry, so we can see how it's coming along! & put down the banana chips!

Another quiet day today... house stuff, some work, then have to drop off ds at jazz band camp for the week.

Enjoy the day, Vi's!

Saturating Sunday. Drink, Drink and Drink some more.

I've got my first 20 ounce bottle and I'm gonna keep filling it all day. I need to really work on doing better on my Water. Anyone gonna join me?

Congrats to Judy and her family. How exciting for all of you.

I think God is very happy with our family. We definately prospered. That's one of the reasons we only have it every 3 years. It's hard to get everybody together at one time. I'm gonna guess that there was still about 50 missing from that pic. They go all out to entertain also. There were poniy rids, Fire Truck rides, One of those inflatable things for the kids to get into and jump around, horseshoe compition, Golf tournament, Roasted pig, food galore, cakes, gift bags, door prizes................The group that did the planning for this one did an excellent job. Everyone had a great time.

Now back to the losing game. Need to get the rest of my weight off and get my surgeries done and be ready for the next reunion. Boy, if they were shocked this time around, they won't believe their eyes in 3 years.

It's supposed to be hot and humid here today and the weather people said it was a d day to spend in the pool. Umm, what pool? Hopefully they will be here tomorrow to finish it up. Otherwise I guess I have to make a call again.

Toes are feeling great this morning. I still need to remember to baby them still. A few more weeks and I should be back to exercising again. The muscle relaxer seems to be helping with the knee area. I still can't sit for very long before it reminds me. If I don't hear from Doc tomorrow I will try calling before they close up. Need to find out what x-rays showed.

Everyone have a great day.

Good afternoon, Violets.

Had a really nice church service today, but was bummed beforehand. My friend who was all excited about getting the lapband surgery was bold by her husband that she couldn't do it because of statistics... he was quoting me things like... 88% of people have complications... 34% have slippage, no long term studies on effects... blah, blah, blah. I countered with.... how many complications does she have with the extra weight she's carrying?? What's the long term prognosis for her at this weight? He says she can do it the "right" way. I said 92% of people that do it the "right" way fail. I emailed him just now and said they needed to go to the seminar so he could as the doctor there all the questions. I said I don't know the stasticts and facts. I just know in my heart it was the best thing I could do for myself and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. He's extremely stubborn and is afraid of losing her.. she's 9 years older than he is and it's a second marriage. It's just heartbreaking to see the difference in her attitude today when she was so excited Friday when we talked about it.

I feel so helpless. She was standing next to me after church when several people said I looked really great and that I'd lost a lot of weight. I know that bothered her as it would me if the roles were reversed.

Sounds like we're all raising our hands to get back to the bandster rules and knock off those remaining pounds. I'm definitely in. Got to be a slim and sexy Grandma by next March!!!!

Everyone have a great day.... enjoy the sunshine... wooo hooooo we finally have some!

Hi everyone--sounds like those that have checked in had great 4th's! Ours was just what I needed. My Uncle passed away about 5 PM the night we left. I needed the serenity of the mountains and the lake, and knowing he would have loved it, and also feeling like he was seeing something much more wonderful than even I was. It was an emotional weekend. Speaking with my cousins was harder than I imagined. All of them are older than I am, but the closest one to my age, is Tim. We went through divorce together. His wife walked out leaving him with 3 small children a son and 2 daughters. He ranches and is a farrier so when I was reeling emotionally from my ex's cheating I would go out and ride, at the time I kept my horses on his place, we worked through a lot of issues together. I taught him how to braid his DD's hair, and he took Manda to her Father/Daughter dance in girl scouts one year. We went by his house on the way out of town, in fact at the time I was considering cancelling, he insisted we go. I love seeing him grow into the amazing man his Dad was.

The fireworks over the lake, and the boat parade were great. The reflections added a dimension I had never seen before. They had some incredible boats on display---told Rick it is time to sell the house and buy one on the water!!

We left camp fairly early, we went to a Blues Festival last night. BBQ, Brews, & Blues. Was some good music.

My DD Abbey is having some problems, please keep her in your prayers. I have dinner cooking to take over to them.

I actually did pretty good with my eating, tried to keep it reasonable. Ate lots of Protein, and fresh fruit. Avoided the chips and Desserts. I did have some home made ice cream. I thought it might be illegal to actually have it available on Independence Day and NOT eat it!! But I did not go back for 2nds or 3rds like my DH did!!! Today we had planned to have the kids over withour folks for a cookout. But Abey is on bed rest, and Connor is running a fever, and Manda is going with Danielle, her cousin--Tim's DD (we were not the only ones to become close!) to find a dress for her Grandpa's funeral. Looks like it will be Tuesday or Wednesday. So we are grilling some ribs, and I have a pot of Beans cooking. Might just leave it at that!

Judy I am so sorry about your friends DH's attitude. I understand he is worried, all of us, and all of our families were as well.....but I really (REALLY) hate when someone TELLS another they cannot do something for themselves! I am not a raving feminist---I am actually less so than most people I know....but that does sit wrong with me!

On the other hand, I am so thrilled to hear about your DD. Infertitily is such a frustration. I will keep them in my prayers.

Denise, your grandsons are total sweeties!! I love the peek a boo!! His long skinny, bony fingers are just exactly like Kinsey's were when she was born. He is the same size now as she was a 4 pounder.

Tracy---what did Macy think of the fireworks? Kinsey was in total AWE at the multiple shooting huge fireworks! Before the show individuals were shooting some arreal...arrial...arial----up in the air kind (!), and she was so excited, she thought that was IT! She would tell me all the colors. So when the big show began she just was speechless, and I had a hard time watching the fireworks, watching, her, Connor and Ray (Becky's grandson also 3 yo). They were so big eyed that you could see the reflections! And the oooohs and aaaaaahs come naturally, it was so much fun.

Michelle---loved the kids pics. I liked them being big enough for my old eyes to see!!!

Suzanne, hope the back is well. Our family is huge too. We have reunions every 3 years, and they rotate from Washington state, to here, to Arkansas. Each of the 3 places is large with family. Ricks side does them in Texas each year.....occasionally they coincide with our visits.

Pamela, hope your vacay is going PERFECT!

Laura---hope your luck is with ya girl!!! PURPLE POWER to ya!!

Judy, I wish we would have had you sing a solo of our Violet song for us!! I want to hear you sing!

TracyKS----boys behave over the 4th? Or do they have you tied up somewhere with bottle rockets at your feet????

Haydee---all finished moving the folks? How are you feeling since your fall. As for Juan....you have forced him back into the "hunter" mode. So now he does have to pay attention to find out what to use for bait!!! I am so glad he is still being kind to your parents though, and not using them to try to "make you see the error of your ways", if you know what I mean. I think you are doing 100% the right thing, making you happy. But it is good to know he isn't the type of man to use others to get his way. It speaks highly of him, and also of your own judgement.

Jane---I so wish you were here, I need to do something with my hair and I don't know what to do!!! I need to lose some length but not all, I need to be able to put it up in a ponytail, for riding!!

Any ideas???

Terry---the Bracelet is gorgeous! I definitely think you should sell---do you have a name for your designs??? Hope the eyes are ok....well actually ALL of you!!

Well, I need to get this stuff boxed up and head over to Abbey & Rhetts. Going by the store to pick up lots of gossip magazines, and puzzle books, anything she can do from the couch. Some movies maybe. Would be a lot easier if her DH was not sooooo damned picky!!!

Hugs~~

Kat

Kat, instead of your layers why not just get rid of some of the perimeter length, go more for a 'bobish' look, easy for summer and not much maintance at all!! You can still have bangs if you want, that is more of an individual thing. Sorry about your Uncle. I was changing address books yesterday, and was shocked by all the dead relatives in their!! But, I don't think I have ever changed books so it is like 20+ years old!! Uncles are special, very sorry!!

CONGRATS JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Susie, that is a HUGE family!!! We have small families on both sides! Really close to my moms sister and family, but my dads sister and family lives in New York, so don't really see her or have much contact!

Tracy, can you pm me your new address, I deleted it by accident!!! So no driving to your job tomorrow!!!!! What a feeling of relief!! Plus your husband is getting a new job! YEEAA!!!!!!!!!!!!

Terry how is your pain? I have been thinking of you, I think banana chips might work, at least they are the right color!! No blueberries!!!

Michelle, how is your eating going? I want you to come stay with me a while and make me up some charts and stuff!!!

Hey Denise, you need to post some pics of your house!!

Does anyone here have TIVO? I am thinking of getting it, don't know anything about it and need VERY SIMPLE!! Comments?

Jane

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
