I checked out the site for Colorado and it said that there were no rooms in June 2009. Back from my meeting tonight and I am looking into the energy sector for some stock ideas, anybody having a company to contribute is greatly appreciated!! Where do you work again Terry?

My sunroof on my car broke today, I just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow otherwise I will get wet. If I can just get it closed I will be happy.

Busy day tomorrow starts with a 8:00 a.m. meeting. Then hopefully get my car fixed then work.

Jane

Hey V's~

Are we sure the dates work for everyone? Raise your hand if it late June works for everyone. Raise your hand higher if it doesn't. I just am not sure if we've heard from everyone about it.

The dates work for me....at this point I don't have a lot on the calendar for next summer, so I can put it there, and work around it!!

I am not sure about how far it is from Colorado Springs, but there is a place we went gambling up in the mountains, called Blackhawk. They have busses that run from the city up, you buy a ticket for the bus, and it includes a book of coupons for extra coins (like buy a roll of $10 and get $2 free) And a free hot dog at another casino, a free tshirt here, or a free pull there---and then you can ride back. It is really nice if you plan on having anything to drink, you are not driving in the winding mountain roads. We only went to Blackhawk once, but used to go to Central City all the time from Denver. For the life of me I can not remember the name of the other half of Central City---it seems the town is split in half due to county lines, so even some casinos are built in 1 building but are in 2 towns and counties. We always had fun up there! They are mostly large chain casinos.

You are having a run of bad luck with things Jane!!! But at least it is things breaking for you, as opposed to Suzannes run of breaking toes, and bones!!! You girls better get together and get over it all!!

We took Kinsey to the fair, and to the carnival, once again Granny rode all the kiddie rides. Was lots of fun, way more people out there today though which sucked!! The other day there were no lines, and Connor got to ride a lot more than Kinsey did in the allotted time.

Now I am just wasting time sitting in here, hoping she will drop off to sleep so I can go to bed. I remember being a kid at my Grandma's and hating going to bed in a quiet house. I learned to go to bed early, so I could relax and go to sleep before she and Grandpa shut everything down, then it was too dark, and too quiet, yet too many wierd noises!!! Kinsey just come in for another hug and kiss!! We have had several and several books, finally I turned the TV on in her room, and hoping she goes to sleep, 4 AM is going to come very early!!

I ate a hamburger patty with tons of green chile tonight!!! I ate about half. No bun, nothing but HOT green chile and hamburger with a little cheese. For lunch I had the salad that upset my stomach! Midday Kinsey and I had SF popsicles. I also had a handful of almonds. For Breakfast I ate a small bowl of Basic 4 Cereal. I drank lots of Water today, would not even hazzard a guess!! 7-8 bottles, then water at lunch.....exercise again consisted of lots of walking and climbing in and out of rides!! Was lots of fun though. Now tho my green chile is giving me serious heart burn!!!

All in all a pretty good day, no real cheating, normal, mostly healthy foods.

My allergies are killing me! I want to scratch my eyes out.....

So.....we have not heard from the Tracy's, Jenn, or Denise, and while we have heard from some of the others, we have not heard if those dates will work......

Y'all throw ideas and all around tomorrow and I will read all about them when I come home!!! Unless someone wants to drive to Albq. for me and let me sleep in!!! LOL

See ya when I get back!

Crap....

I woke up at 4:30 to go potty and got back in bed and my mind started racing like crazy. Just one thought after another and the next thing you know I had laid there for 45 minutes. No sense in fighting it so I got out of bed and here I am. Great, and I have a long day ahead of me. Just hope I don't fall asleep at work this afternoon.

Just a thought, do the places that Michelle found in Maryland have other sites? Those would fit the bill for what we are looking for, just seems like they are in a different area. Haven't had time to look at Suzies or Kats idea, they sound really nice too!!

Off for a busy day!! See you tonight!!

Morning Violets~

Yes, I think Michelle...those are the dates! Can I get a witness?

Well, I slept like crapola last night! First, it took forever to fall to sleep (had to go to bed early, I'll tell you why next). Then I felt something was crawling on me. I sleep in panties only and was not covered so the ceiling fan can blow on me (aahhh) and so something was "walking on my side". Well, in my sleep I flicked it off. It was small, perhaps the size of an ant. Then at 4:30 (too weird Susie...me too up at 4:30) I felt the little F$%^#r walking on my neck. I KNEW IT WAS REAL, as apposed to the first thing...thought I dreampt (is that spelled right) it. Anyhoo...I basically smoshed that in my fingers and flung it to the floor. Then I had the heaby-jeabies and laid there. My hair kept tickling my back and I was freakin out the whole time. So up and to the shower I went!

My alarm was set for 5:15 anyway. Today...brace yourself...I know you will be jealous...I have 3 doctor appointments! I have my primary checkup, then a pap, then a mammo! OOOOO will the fun ever end. I like to get the pap and mammo always in August. Those are appointments you want to have early in the morning, not after working all day. It just worked out this way w/ all the appointments. Good news is by noon, it will all be behind me!

Susanne toes are doing sooo much better than last time. In Feb (you may remember) she had ingrown toenails removed on both inside and outside on her 2 big toes. The first time was done w/ a PA from the Army...dumbass didn't do it right. She did not heal for nearly 2 months, couldn't wear boots w/ her uniform, had horrible toe growth...it was bad. Well yesterday she went to a REAL doctor (my podiatrist) and he had to redo it. Even he said, "The guy that did this sucked...he didn't even remove the ingrown toe nail." So she has to recoop from this, then will head to Phoenix. Poor baby...

Have a great day! I'll check in later before my inevitable nap this afternoon!

Last weekend in June works for me also.

Ok, so there are two problems to consider regarding taking a cruise:

1) The vast majority of them sail from Florida....which would be a day-long trip for a few of you.

2) Yes, you can get cruises from Galveston or New Orleans, but there are only a few choices. Out of Galveston there are two around our dates: one is a 5 day ($659) and the other is a 7 day ($979). There is a 4 day out of New Orleans ($479) but it departs June 18.

So in order to maximize our options, you have to depart from Florida...Orlando, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, etc. If we do that, then that adds a lot of travel time for some people.

So if we move back to the 'middle' of the country again...that's where Texas lies! Which makes sense for all the same reasons it did in May.

And again, in order for it to work for everyone, think of areas that are in the middle of the country and around MAJOR hubs.

Is there anything we can get to through Chicago?? I'm clueless about the north. Judy? Any ideas?

I'm open to anything at all.... I'm just throwing these thoughts out there.

So.....we have not heard from the Tracy's, Jenn, or Denise, and while we have heard from some of the others, we have not heard if those dates will work......

Which Tracys? I have already said Aye....remember? There ya go skipping posts! :tt2: Shame on you! I was one of the ones getting people to say yes or no. Who knows, maybe in the process I did not make myself clear about me...LOL Nothing new. I lose it more and more every year!:der:

The other Tracy has a full plate right now...poor thing. This is what makes me wish we all ived closer together so we could run over and give group hugs when needed :D

I need to throw on some clothes so macy and I can go for our morning walk. Supposed to rain some later so I better get in our walking now. Hopefully we will still be able to go this afternoon.

BB viewers-lets keep our fingers crossed that Libra gets voted out of the house!!!

Good morning.. I'll be brief...

Robby and I stayed at my sisters last night..... and NSV! HUGE NSV!

I fit into a pair of her jeans!!!!!!!! NEVER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE have I been able to wear her clothes! I started whooping and hollering for her to grab the camera.. I started singing.. "I'm wearing my sisters JEANS! ohya ohya" she's like.. I CANT EVEN WEAR THOSE!!!!!!! (because of her tight gut syndrome) So then I tried on a pair of my 17 yr old neices jeans and they fit too!!!!!!!!!!!! I was on cloud nine!

and right now I'm wearing a complete sister outfit to work (since I didn't have clothes with me)

I'm toying with the idea of cutting my hair tonight... (this was the source of a major fight 2 weeks ago) SERIOUSLY he was fit throwing mad at the simple talk of me cutting my hair to my shoulders.. and he has since NOT SHAVED... even starting a new job.. he did not shave! HE LOOKS hideous...... don't get me started.. but I cancelled our January cruise yesterday. He found me at the daycare yesterday and blocked me in begging me to come home last night.. (reminded me of shrek) he layed on the guilt last night and this morning he already called me at work..... but instead of saying he was sorry or that he realized what an ass he has been he continues to try and make me feel guilty..... (he wants me submissive and a crying heap) So my resolve to NOT CRY is still in tact. He is a good man, but he has been acting like a class A ass since March, and I've reached my breaking point.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
