I bought some of those Yoplait Whip Light and Fluffy yogurts and froze them, They are pretty good that way. So far I have tried the strawberry one. I liked it. Tomorrow I'll try the key-lime frozen one.

Girls, this guy just come to look at the trailer we have for sale. Super nice guy----basically a good looking man, early 40's I'd say. Pleasant, well spoken.........BUT I have never, not even on my 80 odd year old Father in law seen so much hair in someones ears!!! You could have combed and styled it! I found it so hard not to stare at it while we talked!!! I feel so mean, but it was borderline comical it was soooooooo much hair! I have no idea how he hears!

I told Rick he has to be here when the guy comes to pick it up, because I am afraid I'll blurt out something stupid-"Oh you need to sign the title right HAIR"!!!!

OK I am going to quit being mean. I ate horribly today, did not exercise, and only drank a bit. I looked in Lord knows how many stores for brown flip flops, and settled for ones I really don't care much for. I also tried on what felt like thousands of bras. I now know I am a size 38 or 40 or even a 42 still DD or DDD depending on what I try on---I was so frustrated I could have screamed!!! Which is why I shop for those alone, I am afraid I would take it out on anyone around me!

TTYL~~

I'll trade ya Judy, we're in drought and 100 degree + weather!! We get like literally 1 minute long bursts of rain once a week, and when it finishes the ground is instantly dry again.

I have had to Water my garden for a month now

BUT my squash/zuccini plant is going nutso, I have 3 zucchini growing about 4 inches already!! the bush literally went from 2 inches tall and wilted/dead to now a 5ft wide plant with 1 foot wide leaves.. and fruits!! I so excited, first time ever growing my own.

Goin to finish dinner, got my card from Pam, looks gorgeous!!

HUGS TO MY V's!!!!

Did anyone besides St. Louis people have problems yesterday getting on the internet? I found out late last night it was because of my firewall, then I go to work today and find out almost everyone had that problem!

I always drink a lot of Water. I don't like soda, and I only like my coffee black. Really I have the opposite problem, I drink too much! I knew when I got the band, that drinking at meals would be a problem, and it still is sort of. My fill date is two weeks from tomorrow!!!! I get a barium swallow Monday to make sure all is healed and happy. I can't wait for my fill. I feel like I am in bandster hell, and actually I am, I remember how I felt about a month after surgery, and I am revisiting that now!

I am rambling, sorry!!

Have a great night!!!

Good morning violets~we all slept so good! I have never had macy sleep until 7:20 before....her sister & brother wore her out.

My mom & stepdad are coming over today to pick up Macy for the weekend. This first week as a SAHM has been beyond my expectations. We had so much fun just being together. How great, right?! I found out something though...I am not that good on kids lunch ideas.

Anyone care to throw out some suggestions?

Good Morning, Violets..

Tracy.. I find that ice cream and jelly Beans is a simple little lunch.< /span> As a matter of fact, I often have it myself!

Laura.. woooooooo hoooooooooooo on your dad's success!! We could all possibly be related to a famous person soon. Don't forget to include all the Violets in the press release, k?

Ethan is here and I'm trying to get some oatmeal down, but he's eating most of it. He's here til 1 today and then I have a flute rehearsal. I'm playing for a memorial service tomorrow and my choir is singing. Then I'll have lapband support group. Another busy Saturday.

Kristin has her first obstetrician appointment today. Years ago, in anticipation of her getting pregnant, I bought a Willowtree angel called New Life. I can't wait to FINALLY give it to her today!! Of course I bought a few sleepers too. This is going to be soooooooo much fun!

We're going out for a fish fry tonight with Kris and Nathan.

Time to go amuse Ethan for a bit. It's very cloudy out and only 60 degrees. Just a yucky day, weather wise.

Everyone have a great day.

Catch ya later!

Laura, That is so exciting. Keep us posted.

TracyK, One thing I did was to teach Jack how to cook. By the time he was 5 he was making grilled cheese sandwiches. Not unless I was there to turn the stove on though. I would take the time to explain to him about different fruits and veggies. You might try looking at the Library to find a cookbook for kids. Like making sandiches and using cookie cutters to make shapes with them. No bake Cookies. Go to Freecycle.com and see if anyone has a pup tent they don't need anymore and put that up in the backyard. Have fun.

Judy, A fish Fry. I'm soooo jealous.

Just a reagular day today. Will work on my drinking. I can't get over how well I am doing on my eating. It's amazing and I'm enjoying it.

Everyone have a great day.

They finished last night at 424 players, he's in the money, and he's got 500k chips. They televise it on ESPN months afterward, but this year is the first year they are getting to the final table (Monday) then stopping.. and playing the final table in November. That way the final 10 can get sponsors, commercials, etc.. That's still way off, I'm just so excited he's in the money in this one, and has moved up several money brackets already. HE is so excited, and that makes me happy )

He said if he makes it to Sunday he wants my mom to fly out and watch him on Monday, but she thinks she jinxes him..anytime she's in the audience watching he makes faces at her and gives away his cards.

OK I gotta get ready for work lol, we were up so late I'm now late for work..doh.

Oh and they started with about 8,600 players.

TGIF, Vi's!~~

Working this a.m., baked some zucchini bread w/all the zucch I have from the farm (1st time & it stuck to the pans a bit on the bottoms, seems to be very sticky, note to self: pam w/flour!) to take to the in-laws this weekend, then pool w/dd + friend, then down to watch ds play in the jazz camp finale tonight... phew!

We're going to visit ILs tomorrow - Monday... I'll be able to check in from their 'puters, tho, which is good!

Laura... that is SO COOL!!! I feel the excitement!

TracyK... I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that I think I may have some kids' cookbooks/lunch idea books and that I will be HAPPY to mail them to you!! Especially when the kids were younger, I'd always do cute stuff... I still cut dd's sandwhiches w/a heart cookie cutter from time to time...

Janie/Judy... the wii idea has been bubbling @ the back of my mind for xmas...

TracyKS... keep going, girlie!! You can do it!! 178 here you come!

Terri... how's the face coming along??? pics?

Suzie... pool yet?? pics, too, please!

Ok, a bit more work... then play! Make it a great one, Vi's!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
