Hi Angelyco,

I find it hard to believe that they have you seeing a dietitian everytime you go for a fill, and that you have to pay every time. I've seen my dietitian once, and made some calls which she returns. When I go for a fill, I don't have to see anyone, other than Dr. Artuso and his PA. I also don't pay any additional money until I think after a year of visits. They also have a support group which meets on I think its Wednesdays, around 6pm, not sure of the time. I don't go because I don't drive and its difficult to get there without inconveniencing my husband or daughter. I have a close friend who had her band done by Dr. Fielding and she gives me all the support I need. Additionally, this web site is a wealth of information and you can get just about any question answered here. Their phone # is 914 - 693-0055, you can call and ask their office staff, they are really nice and are always willing to help. They are in Dobbs Ferry hospital.

Since last time I commented, I have finally stopped vomiting. If I eat very, very, very slowly and make sure I have some kind of sauce (liquid) with my food, it seems to go down, but I still think my band is a little too tight and I think I'm going to call for an appointment to remove 1/2 of a cc .

Dr. Artuso was actually my first choice. His office is very close to both my home and work, and he comes very highly recommended. The only reason I didn't go to him is because he doesn't take my insurance. The only reason I go to Dr. Weber is because the initial costs were cheaper than NYU, and I wanted to have my surgery done in Westchester so I wouldn't have to commute from the city right after having surgery. I honestly didn't know my program was that unusual until I realized nobody else mentions seeing their dietician after their surgery, unless they're having issues and need advice on eating and things like that. I'm just glad my surgery is done so now I can make a better choice of who I go to for aftercare and save some money in the process.

I was banded by Dr. artuso too 6 weeks ago . I hope I get the same results you did. I got 1 fill and I am still hungry. Do you go to the support meetings at Dobbs Ferry Hospital on the 2nd thursday of each month we could use someone who has done great with their band.

Hi, I am from Northern Westchester, Yorktown Heights. I am going to Dr. Davis and the surgery is being done in Lawrence Hospital. I go for my pre-op testing today, and I am getting a little nervous. I had an ekg done last week and I was so nervous and my heart was beating so fast. I am trying to stay calm today. Continued success to all of you.

Hello,

I'm going in on November 11th for surgery with Dr. Davis at Lawrence hospital. You're the first person I've seen to have the same surgeon as me. I'm so nervous! How long did your operation take? How are you doing now? I'd love to hear more from you!

Good Luck!

Hopefully you will all be attending the 2009 LapBand Conference in New York, March 20-21. It is going to be a great event with very experienced speakers - nutritionists, psychologists, bariatric surgeon, life coach, and plastic surgeon (ME!). This conference is good for people who are thinking about the band or have already been banded.

I hope to see all of you there. I will be offering FREE consultations and 20% discounts on surgery for all who attend.

Visit https://www.bandedtogether.net/Events.php for more information and to reserve your spot.

Hi everyone,

I live in upper Westchester. I am hoping to be banded very soon, most likely at Westchester County Medical Center...I thought they were so good, but I'm having doubts reading haw many of you have used mostly the same 3 doctors or practices. I havent read about not 1 person using the WMC in Valhalla.?.? I see my PCP on Tuesday so hopefully I will get good results and get my referral so I can begin this road..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
