Hey WhitePants,

I was banded by Dr. Shah, Dr. Roslin's partner! I go to the 59th street office for my fills. Small world eh?

I live in Manhattan, near Union Square. Dr. Fielding banded me 3/6/08, and I've been feeling great and losing pretty well. I have enough restriction from the unfilled band that yesterday, when I went for a follow up visit intended for the first fill, I declined any additional restriction. I told Dr. Fielding I want to wait until I stop losing or plateau before I have a fill. He encouraged me, saying "When you wake up starving, that's when you know it's time for a fill..."

BTW, I chronicled my NYU surgery and the first couple of weeks of my experience with the band in fairly extensive detail in the March 2008 Bandsters MASTER THREAD, should anyone be interested in what it's like being banded there. One thing: because of my extra-large size, I stayed the night in a stepdown ward, and was very closely monitored. I think it was the right thing medically, but it wasn't fun - particularly because the ward had only reopened the week before after being refurbished.

Hello Everyone,

Hi Thenume, I too go to the 59th St. office. I try to schedule my appt. for the same day as the Support Group. Do you attend the Support Group on Thursdays? There's one coming up next week, the 24th. I plan to make that meeting. I missed the last meeting. I read the e-mail of the correct meeting place that evening. After spending 30 minutes in and out of food markets looking for the group.

Let me know if you'll be attending.

I have great restriction now from my last fill on 3/5. My appts w/ the dr. is every 6 weeks now. Now I know what all the hype is about being restricted.

Hope everyone is meeting their goals and staying the course.

Good Morning All and Have a Great Day

drstan1 - you'll soon be getting many response to this as I did. When I tested the amount I could still eatafter one of my fills. For two weeks what I normally ate before the surgery. I put on 10 + pounds. Go back to or start measuring your foods, scale, cups, spoons, children size portions whatever it takes. Treat this time as following a diet. You'll only get upset with yourself soon.

As I was told and you're being told you'll get that restriction soon. It took me 5-6 fills to get here. Take this time to explore your new lifestyle of eating. Try increasing your veggies and controlling your Protein and portions. Restrain from eating that put on weight food. Get it under control before you reach your restriction. It'll be much harder when you get there. Stay the course. It's coming and when it does, Look Out. You're in for a surprise.

hi thenume and whitepants... i too was banded at lennox hill. i love how low key the office is and how it's typically not as crowded as other bariatric centers in the city.

fyi: i read your earlier comments about the monthly support groups. i think the meeting is tonight 4/17, not next week. this will be my first meeting .hope to see you tonight or at some other session.

Hi, Good Day and Results To Everyone Today.

Hungry4help and Thenume: The meetings are held every 4th Thursday of each month. I called Sharon/Nutritionist to set up an appt. for that day. She is out until the 29th of this month. So there may not be a meeting. She didn't say so on her vocie mail. I'll call the office today to see if the meeting will still be held. It should, for it has been held w/ only the members before. I'll report back tonight.

Hi Everyone, Hungry4help, I called today regarding the group meeting. I totally forgot that the meetings were changed to every 3rd Thursday. I didn't reset my calendar for the new time. The next meeting is May 15th.

Hope you made it after all and hope to see you and Thenume at the next meeting.

Hello Everyone, we all have not posted in a while. Hope it's because you're so busy losing weight you only have time admiring yourself. Or is it that you're so busy replying to all the compliments on your good looks.

Well, come back and share your good and not so good results. We all still need to bask in others glory besides our own.

Happy Mother's Day to All and Everyone.

Hi, I am from Northern Westchester, Yorktown Heights. I am going to Dr. Davis and the surgery is being done in Lawrence Hospital. I go for my pre-op testing today, and I am getting a little nervous. I had an ekg done last week and I was so nervous and my heart was beating so fast. I am trying to stay calm today. Continued success to all of you.

Wow, what a great webite! I've been on it for over 3 hours! I'm in Yorktown, and attended the seminar at WMC, and had my consult with Dr. Kaul. So far, the office seems really professional and comforting. Just wondering if anyone has had their surgery through them? :Angel_anim:

Hi!

Yes, isn't this website great!!! I live in Yorktown, too!(Bella and Kat) I went to the WMC for their seminar but then decided to go to NYU because they really speciallize and are supposed to be the best. After six months of prep, I finally have a surgery date of July7! I am struggling through the two week of pre-op liquid diet this week and next. I'd love to have people right in my town to go through this with! This website has practically saved me this week. Good Luck to everyone! Barb

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
