I tried to make a hard boiled egg yesterday. I ate 1/4 of it. I couldn’t eat all of that in one day. The struggle is real. I’m almost 4weeks post op. It’s like my appetite left me after 3 weeks.

I feel like a pig because I have no trouble getting down an entire boiled egg heck most foods I eat I’m eating the whole 2 to 2.5oz of it with no problem. I’m never hungry but I do have my watch set to alert me at 8am, 12noon and 5pm to eat. Yesterday was the first time I actually felt full but I’m never hungry. I’m 5 weeks post op from RXNY. Only eating soft foods only Protein no veggies until week 6 post op. If you know of anything other than eggs I can eat for breakfast please post I’m so sick of eggs

I can put away a whole egg too. Depending on what it is I can eat about 2-4oz. I'm about 5 weeks as well..

As far as breakfast. What about turkey sausage, oatmeal with Protein powder, or yogurt. I'm still mostly drinking my breakfast.

Turkey sausage is a great idea I just wasn’t sure that would be consider soft foods and nowhere on my list of foods say oatmeal but I would love some oatmeal. I’ve finally reach a weight loss stall I’ve been between 168 and 170 for the pass week and a half so I thought it was because I was able to eat more

I would say if it's soft, easy to chew, and moist the turkey sausage is totally fine. However, each program may have different criteria of what is considered "soft food".

Congrats on your loss so far, that's great! I'm by no means an expert on stalls. I just keep reading, stick to the program. It'll break soon enough.

I’m in the same boat with eating, had one day where I ate too much too fast, but eggs, and everything else I have no issues with as long as I eat it somewhat slow. My doc said to stay away from oatmeal for the first 3-4 months, her words were “oatmeal is the biggest thorn in my side with blockages” although I see all over it is ok, I guess it makes sense it could be an issue with how sticky it can become

My instructions says to thin the oatmeal out with milk. I can also have thinned cream of wheat. It crazy how different each program is.

I agree, it’s tough when there’s so much different info, cream of wheat is fine with my doc, it’s just the oatmeal she doesn’t like lol

So, I need to share a win:

Going on a 2 week trip to Italy in 3 weeks. Need to buy some new clothes to wear on the trip and my wife had a $30 cash thing from Old Navy. We go last night and I am trying to find some shorts that are "tight" on me with some elastic, so that they will still fit well in 3 weeks when I am ~15 pounds lighter. I put on a pair of XL shorts that I think fit well. I know Old Navy stuff runs pretty big, but I was VERY happy that I could shop in a regular store (not a big and tall). That happiness doubled when my wife saw the shorts and said "Those look too baggy, let me go grab a large and see how those look". They looked awesome! So I am now the PROUD owner of 2 large pairs of old navy shorts :)

That's awesome Lipman! My stall looks to be over with a 1 kilogram/2.2 pound loss.

Protein been stressing me out, it's so hard at this stage when you don't do shakes and aren't a fan of powders and are vegetarian. Even protein drinks are ick now, just too sweet. I can't wait for normal foods, been saving high protein recipes.

I'll go back and update our list soon as there's a few names missing. I'd love to know how @Synlee is going.

I had gastric bypass 5/17 and I’m doing well. Walking 2-3miles every other day, drinking flavored water throughout the day to stay hydrated, took my first set of Vitamins today (not bad), trying to eat slowly. So far i have eaten turkey burger, tuna with light mayo, pureed chili, yogurt, scrambled eggs with cheddar, Protein drinks. 3 of my 6 incisions have begun to heal (glue fell off) and the others are itching. I had my first experience with food getting stuck in my chest.. I thought i was dying. No more dry turkey burgers for me😩

I hope everyone is doing well.

I weighed 199 pounds (90 kg) this morning! I felt accomplished and happy, and celebrated by going to the gym to lift some weights. Hoping everyone else out there is making progress, whether you are pre- or post-op 😊
Today is 7 weeks and two days post-op for me. I've been through two stalls already, but I am sticking to the program. I want long-term success from all of the sacrifice and pain. You all know I mean!

Okay so, as of yesterday my insurance company contacted me direction to say, that I was approved and have completed all the required items on the "To Do List". so, I should be getting my appointment next week for meeting with the Anesthesiologist. I'm very excited/nervous, but extremely happy too.

Tomorrow will be 7 weeks since surgery. Yesterday i found that I was able to finally drink more than a sip at a time. I am SO grateful! I have always loved drinking water and it has been my primary beverage for most of my life; losing the ability to drink a lot of it was my first post-surgical regret. Being able to drink more than a tiny sip at a time makes me feel so much more normal.
I'm eating around 500-700 calories a day, and have hit my second stall. I have begun to only weigh myself once a week. I've made to the gym twice since surgery, but I've been walking my pup and walking at work up to 3 miles a day on average.
I've also been using resistance bands and stretching. I'm not quite ready for twisty yoga stuff yet. Or jogging. I did do a 10+ mile bicycle ride last weekend with a friend to a coffee shop where I had a cold decaf coffee with half and half. That was another activity that made me feel kinda normal.
I'm still drinking one protein drink a day, trying to hit my goal of at least 60 grams a day. Today I got 72 in thanks to a cold G Zero with 10 grams.
My abdomen is still a bit sore in general. The way I understand it, the inside is not fully healed until 3 months after surgery. That means sometime around November 1st. This is when I will go on the forever way of eating according to my provider's plan. I look forward to that day.
Oh! And I should mention that I learned about a chain restaurant that is in about 30 or so states. It is called Clean Eatz, and they have a menu that is friendly to we bariatric patients. My support group last night talked about getting pizza and flatbreads from there. I checked it out and it looks like it's both eat-in and takeaway. This is the first place I'm going when I feel ready to eat out again
