So it’s been a little over 3 months since my surgery. I haven’t lost any weight for the last two weeks. I actually think I gained a lb or two! ( if my scale is accurate lol). Despite efforts of trying to exercise more. Walking up to 4 miles a day plus riding stationary bike 20 minutes most days! Also been cutting back and only eating 500 to 650 calories a day. What is going on?!?!?

stall. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale for a few days. It'll soon break and you'll be on your way again.

Don't cut back on your calories unless your team told you to. You are so low that your body will be holding onto the nourishment to counteract the exercise you are doing. Trusting the process is a tough learning curve that we all have to learn. Hold your nerve, the stall will break

this is EXTREMELY NORMAL. you will have plateaus all through your journey. Follow your meal plan don't skip meals, get your Protein AND Water.

Plateaus are part of the process. However, 500-650 calories a day is okay for those of us fresh out of surgery, but it is not enough for someone who is exercising.

Your weight loss is never a perfectly straight downward line. It zigs & zags girls up & down. Stalls, hormonal fluctuations, Fluid retention, Constipation, diarrhoea, etc. all affect our weight. Last month I was retaining so much fluid due to some very high humidity I couldn’t put my rings on. Took three days to pee it all out & get back to my usual weight range. We all have a natural fluctuation too. I mean we don’t eat the exact same thing, pee & poop the same volume & do the exact same activity every day. Stick to your plan & you’ll be fine.

Like everyone else said; stalls happen. They will happen again, follow your plan and they will also pass.

But, 500-600 calories a day seems VERY LOW especially for exercising every day. You should check in with your Dietician/Nutritionist for guidance on calories.

Not eating enough, could cause stalls along with other problems. Be safe and healthy.

Maybe you're just not eating enough?! For me, a boost in calories always breaks a stall for me. Both pre and post op.

Check with your team, we were told at 3 months we should be consuming around 800 calories

Make sure you stick to your plan religiously, stay away from the scale for a while, and exercise as normal. Make sure you're getting enough Water and Protein. The stall will eventually break. It's all part of the process.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

      Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

      Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

        I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

        Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
