Hi. I had surgery on Dec 2, 2024, one week before I turned 51. And same, wish I had done it sooner. I've seen that many our age and older have done this. I'm excited for what this year will hold for me! I'd love to hit my goal weight by Dec. 31, 2025!

Hi! I am 51 years old, turning 52 in April. I had the duodenal switch loop surgery on 10/31/23 when I was 50.5 years old.

Like many people, I regret having the WLS sooner. Even with the complications that happened post op.

I am excited also because I am scheduled for excess skin removal in 3/17/25!

I will be 59 in April and I had my sleeve done March 2020. Just like some of the other replies I wish I would of done this sooner. Lost 120 pounds now I am moving forward to get plastic surgery going. Best of luck with your journey ?

How did your plastics go? I have had several procedures to trim excess skin, breast and arm reductions with fabulous results. You?

Do share with us your skin removal journey!!! Best wishes! It is a game changer for any massive weight loss who retains a lot of excess skin to keep one positive, on track and motivated forward at any age. Just had my arms done in October 2024. Initial sleeve December 2018. I turned 65 May 2024.

At 65 - I am happier, healthier and slimmer than when in college! And, I will be a much smaller bride for 30th anniversary + vow renewal this April. Congratulations to all who took this courageous journey as an older adult! You are to be celebrated. Keep up the good fight...

56 now.

Sleeve done 9 years ago.

Wish I had not waited.

Been sidelined the last 5+ years dealing with family illness and the aftermath. Getting on top of the regain now...finding the groove again as I resume the successful post op methods.

I’m 53. I am having sleeve surgery in a couple days. I am worried about not loosing a significant amount of weight because I’m in Peri-menopause.

Over 50 too when I had my sleeve surgery 14 months ago. Also wish I'd done it years ago. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself EVER.

Well stated.

Had mine 9 years ago in my mid-40s.

Looking forward to where I will be on the 10th year mark.

Wish I'd done so years prior....wish I'd adhered to the suggested way of eating as I did the first five years.

Now, I'm powering through the burning off of the regain and hopefully going to a new all time lowest BMI.

The sleeve is still there and providing restriction. Keto has really helped get things headed in great directions.

Hello, I was 63 when I did the sleeve. The only problem was, i had lost 60 pounds and got knocked over at the dog park which stirred up my back injury. I think if I had been younger, it might have been different. So I had to go on steroids 9 months after surgery and the weight loss came to a shcreaching halt! I have not been able to lose anymore, but at least keeping the weight off.
