Recommended Posts

Just curious if insurance will cover you if they want to do a revision from a sleeve to a bypass. 18 months out no weight gain buy having unbelievable GERD affecting my health.

I think some policies will cover revisions if there are medical reasons - and GERD would be a medical reason. You'll have to check with your insurance company, though, to see if it'll be covered.

I had my surgery in December of 2020. Been experiencing reflux so bad. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield. I read on their website that your BMI can’t be below 35 and you have to have issues. I’m at a 31 BMI. I’m really hoping they approve the surgery because this reflux sucks.

did you ever have your surgery? I am where you are and diagnosed with extreme GERD, Barrett's Esophagus. Im chocking on acid. I see the nutritionist tomorrow. She said we are going over bypass pre-op diet. My surgeon didn't even sound like he was comfortable with a revision. So, I am a little confused. I know if you're under 35 with other health issues, it is covered and surgeon said with my health issues, he's not worried about the approval. He's more worried about the lifestyle changes and my health issues. I just don't know. What I am 100% certain of......I cannot live with this pain anymore. It doesn't matter what I eat, if I don't eat.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
