If you aren't 100% sure I recommend waiting until you are. You can always revisit the option later.

You don't want to regret anything, or not stick with it because you really didn't want to do it.

With that being said, it is probably just normal surgery jitters. If you had to go through any kind of pre-op process that usually take 4-6 months. You had plenty of time to think about it and talk yourself out of doing it. This is why I said that you are probably having normal jitters.

I can say, I have been reading this forum and 2 others plus in 2 FB groups for WLS. I rarely see people say they regret it, or the only regret is not doing it sooner. The people that I do read about regrets are rare and 100% of the time due to some VERY unlikely/low risk complications.

I wish you the best, always make the decision that is best for you and your needs!

I don't think I'll have any regrets, I think it's just jitters as you say. It's taken 7 months to get this far. The horse just looks bigger as you get closer.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Mine is scheduled for 12/2 and I'm a bit nervous about it too. Not really second guessing my decision but hoping that I'm one of the one's who doesn't have much pain, etc. I started my journey in June. It seemed like one delay after another and then I finally got my surgery date just to find out that I had to have another EKG done because mine was originally done in August. I found out today that the new one was abnormal (the one is August was normal). So, I'm waiting to see what I have to do next and hoping that everything is ok and that I can get clearance to have the surgery.

Everyone has these pre op nerves, we just would not be human if we didn't. I was so ready for the surgery and so sick of the pre op diet that I couldn't get to the theatre quick enough. The night before however I didn't sleep too well but I told myself to pull up my big girl pants and said bye for now to my family with a lump in my throat. Its safe surgery now adays.

Hi everyone, my surgery is scheduled for Dec 2nd. I’ve learned a lot about myself throughout this process. I agree most people say they wish they had the surgery sooner.

I'm December 14th. I've been waiting and waiting since July 2021. My insurance just had tons of hoops. I am soooo excited! I wish everyone well.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
