Hello, I’m currently on the pre op diet. At the start of the second week I began having severe back and neck pain that’s shoots up to the back of my head. Has anyone had this issue? I thought maybe it’s the lack of electrolytes. I have been drinking more than enough Water. At this point I’m so disappointed because I had been exercising and losing that pre surgery weight. Now I’m almost immobile and I’m less than a week from surgery!

I had/have that happen periodically. I fix it a couple of ways. One is to drink a cup of milk (your choice) and one or two prunes. It’s the electrolytes you are after. Another choice is a cup of V-8, or some Gatorade zero. They all work well in the middle of the cramp or to prevent them. I find the milk works fastest in the middle of cramping, like 15 minutes. You are almost to surgery, great, you’ve got this!

I don't know what that could be, ask your doctor or surgeon.

But, Water actually flushes electrolytes through your system. So if that is your concern, drink some zero sugar Gatorade or even add an electrolyte packet to your water.

Something like this, I don't know if they have sugar or not though. You could look into it.

I have used Liquid IV in the past. It works well, but does have sugar in it. Buyer beware if that's a problem for you.

Might be able to find a sugar free one, I never used it or looked into it. I just knew about it for hangover cures. hahaha

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
