For the first time I experienced vomiting after eating and I could have skipped on the last two bites but I believe my eyes were bigger than my tummy and my head was telling me that I was still hungry although my body was getting ready to tell me that I was not. HOW DO YOU OVERCOME HEAD HUNGER???

Thanks buddies

I still vomit occasionally when I over eat, usually on a food that I haven't had in a while. Some foods just taste so good but I try to keep from doing it. I try and eat slow and wait for the signals to kick in. I feel so ill for hours, the two extra bites are just not worth it. Once you get to know your signals it will be easier.

I also get pretty sick if I overeat. I have come to learn when to stop and walk away from the plate because I want to avoid feeling that way again after eating. Once your signals start you will learn to stop as well.

I've not vomited even once since my surgery. I don't think I can, actually. When I overeat (which is rare, thank goodness because I take note when I start to get full unless I eat too fast and then I'm screwed) I feel uncomfortably full, nauseous, and want to vomit soooooo bad, but I can't and I end up feeling that way for HOURS after the fact. That's why I try and continue to eat slow because every single time I've overeaten has been because I ate too fast. Head hunger for me usually happens when I'm bored. I try to just drink when that happens because if your stomach is full of Fluid you don't feel hungry (unless you're ACTUALLY hungry. It's a good way to tell, tbh).

I am 9 weeks post op and measure everything. 1/3 cup meat and 1/8 cup veggie or potato. 1/2 cup yogurt. Since I just started regular food, I don't want to overeat. I take my 1/2 cup container to restaurants. Measure my food and put rest in to go container. I ask for rice and noodles on the side. I leave these or take home to my neighbor. I have a power aide jug that I refill and try to finish one before noon and 4pm and 9pm.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
