I'm going to try this! The viscosity is just...eww. Like it reminds me of the slime I used to have my students make when I taught science class.

I keep saying I am, but haven't. I figured, it really can't make it worse though.

I will eventually, or if you do let me know what you think.

I’m on work leave and I am bored too 🤣 today I moved into the mushy stage. My diet expanded to being able to have: fat free refried Beans, low fat ricotta or cottage cheese, and eggs 🍳 I had 2tbs of Beans for Breakfast and it was way better than it should have been 🤣 I was so tired of yogurt. Days 3-6 my options were yogurt, hot Cereal. I hate hot Cereal. So I ate yogurt and was over it. Moving on up!

I am guessing you are on purées. Did anyone tell you about the ricotta bake?

I tried a bite of a friends Tilapia and didn't care for it still. It wasn't as "fishy" as I remember but the texture was too watery for me.

I mostly want to like salmon for the health benefits. I think I’m going to give that one a try again.

No, I am on a normal diet now.

I did try the ricotta bake during pureed, it was too dry for me. I wanted to love it because I love ricotta but I just couldn't get into it.

I do like Salmon cakes, I bake them instead of fry and they are yummy and low fat. I haven't tried actual Salmon yet, but before surgery it was a smidge too fishy for me.

I can’t have the sauce until week 8 🙄 the dietician won’t approve Alfredo substitute either. So I wait. It’s literally saved in my phone for when I can have it 👌

Ooh man I loved it. I practically lived on it during the purée phase.

Hummm. Never heard of that. I don’t recall how many weeks I was when I was on purées though. Could’ve been around the same time frame.

I’ve never had salmon cakes. I like crab cakes though. I will have to find a recipe and try those.

She says it’s too acidic for a healing stomach until then. I’m not thrilled about her ruling but I don’t want to mess anything up 🫣

Someone else mentioned I may have cooked it too long and dried it out.

This is the one I used. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/240130/scrumptious-salmon-cakes/

I baked them though, at 400* for about 10 min each side.

I was allowed to have sauce too, my nutritionist just said try a little first and make sure I handle ok. I also had Tomato Soup on liquids with no issues.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
