Anyone wear a medical ID bracelet since gastric bypass? I know my surgeon office gives us a wallet card, but I’m weighing the choice of getting a medical ID Bracelet…..

Thoughts?

Indeed. I can't see there's anything about a gastric bypass that would qualify for a medical emergency bracelet. However of course anyone has the freedom to wear any bracelet they like and I wouldn't dream of arguing.

Whether or not to wear a medical ID is certainly a personal choice, based on need and comfort level, I should think. I don't wear one because I was sleeved, but wear it due to other medical history that would be important for emergency personnel to know if I couldn't tell them myself.

You can also put this information in your phone under medical. I’m not sure if they are actually required to look there. Seems like they would be if you weren’t able to talk for yourself.

I bought one from Amazon. It gives me peace of mind bc if something should happen, the ENT’s will know how to respond!

I have one for medication allergies. I’m not able to add anything else because I’m out of room!
I bought the bracelet from someone on Etsy years ago. They normally made bracelets & I told her what I needed. Now that I’ve lost so much weight I can slip it off!

Hey there! I totally understand the struggle of having medication allergies and needing to have that information easily accessible. It's great that you found a solution with the bracelet from Etsy! And congratulations on losing weight! That's a huge accomplishment! I wanted to add that I've also started making my own jewelry recently and have been getting bead for jewelry making from a great provider. They have a great selection and I love supporting a small business. Maybe you could even find some new stones to add to your bracelet now that it's adjustable!
